Senior Product Manager, Enterprise & Deployments

FivetranAustin, TX
$188,496 - $235,620

About The Position

This role focuses on the trust and access layer of the dbt platform, encompassing how people and organizations authenticate, their authorization levels, and where the platform runs. It covers identity and authentication primitives (OAuth, account discovery), enterprise security features (SSO, SCIM, RBAC, PrivateLink), initial user onboarding (login, sign-up, invites, users, groups), and the deployment footprint, including expansion into new regions and cloud providers. This is a foundational infrastructure role with a direct impact on revenue, as enterprise adoption is often constrained by the trust layer. The role involves working across two engineering teams (IAM and Transport) and collaborating with security, infrastructure, compliance, and field teams. The recent merger with Fivetran brings an established customer base and ARR momentum, alongside a new problem space in open data infrastructure for AI.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent on identity, access management, security, or infrastructure products.
  • Direct experience with authentication and authorization concepts such as SSO, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, and identity providers, with a strong understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS deployment models, including tenancy, isolation, regional expansion, and migration strategies.
  • A strong technical foundation enabling peer-level collaboration with engineering, architectural reasoning, and participation in design reviews.
  • Comfort engaging with enterprise customers, especially their security and platform teams, and a proven ability to translate customer feedback into prioritized product work.
  • Excellent written communication skills for creating crisp specs, articulating tradeoffs, and explaining technical decisions to diverse audiences.
  • Comfort operating asynchronously within a distributed team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at an identity provider (e.g., Okta, Auth0, Entra) or on identity, access, or deployment products at a hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Shipped private networking capabilities like PrivateLink, VPC peering, or customer-managed network isolation.
  • Experience working within compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, HIPAA, GDPR, data residency) as a product owner.
  • Experience migrating a large customer base between deployment or tenancy models.
  • Background in telemetry and observability for platform services.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, analytics engineering, or the modern data warehouse ecosystem (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift).

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for identity, access, and deployment across the dbt platform, from auth primitives to admin surfaces.
  • Enhance enterprise security to be a competitive advantage, moving beyond table stakes like SSO, SCIM, RBAC, and PrivateLink to make administration a notable feature.
  • Lead the single-tenant to multi-tenant migration program for existing enterprise customers, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Drive expansion into new geographies and clouds by defining deployment requirements such as data residency, regional isolation, and cloud provider parity.
  • Own the user onboarding experience, including login, sign-up, and account discovery, to improve conversion and self-service for large organizations.
  • Empower administrators with tools for managing users, groups, invites, and permissions to enable enterprise-scale self-service provisioning.
  • Act as the product representative in enterprise security reviews, translating blockers and roadmap items into sales enablement.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams on telemetry and observability for the trust and access layer to ensure operational confidence and proactive issue detection.
