Etsy's web experience receives over 600 million visits a month. Most buyers arrive from a search engine, land on a listing page, and leave. The ones who stay long enough to see the real person behind the item convert at 5-10x the rate of those who don't, but the experience rarely gives them the chance. We want to change that. The Buyer Web team is rebuilding how buyers discover, evaluate, and purchase on desktop and mobile web. We're not tweaking what exists, we're rethinking what the experience should look like when we account for whom the buyer is, where they came from, and what they're trying to evaluate. Item-aware listing pages. Context-aware landing experiences. Surfaces that make Etsy's human connection visible before a buyer commits to a click. As the Senior Product Manager, Buyer Experience (Web) you'll shape strategy and guide delivery for some of the highest-impact surfaces on Etsy. Working alongside design, engineering, data science, and research to turn open questions into shipped experiments. We're looking for someone who is energized by that kind of challenge! This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub may be the first to be considered. Requirements

  • A track record of shaping product strategy and delivering meaningful outcomes on high-traffic consumer web or e-commerce surfaces
  • Deep comfort with quantitative analysis and A/B testing — you form hypotheses, design experiments, and interpret results critically
  • The ability to take a complex, ambiguous problem and develop a clear plan that a squad can rally around
  • Strong product perspective — you have opinions about what makes a web experience effective and can articulate why
  • A genuine curiosity about two-sided marketplace dynamics and how buyer and seller behavior interact
  • Collaborative communication skills that build trust — you write clearly, listen well, and bring people along through the quality of your thinking
  • Enthusiasm for using AI tools to move faster and a thoughtful perspective on how AI is reshaping how buyers find and evaluate products

Responsibilities

  • You'll shape product strategy for surfaces that touch hundreds of millions of visits — grounded in data, user research, and a clear perspective on where the experience should go.
  • Together with your squad, you'll frame problems into crisp hypotheses: deciding what to build, what to test, and what to set aside based on evidence, not momentum.
  • You'll work closely with your squad to move from insight to prototype to shipped experiment. We care about being in the work together, not reviewing it from a distance.
  • You'll steward your squad's goals and metrics — understanding the funnel deeply and knowing what changes meaningfully improve conversion and retention.
  • You'll also navigate platform tradeoffs across desktop, mobile web, and in-app browser, and collaborate broadly across Etsy, because the problems that matter here don't live inside one team's boundaries.
