Senior Product Manager, Broker UX

MGT Insurance•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

MGT Insurance is an AI-driven, neo-insurer focused on evolving commercial P&C insurance for brokers and small business owners. We are looking for visionary leaders who thrive in dynamic, entrepreneurial settings and excel in autonomous roles. This role will replace traditional servicing methods with a modern experience for brokers and insureds, featuring intuitive UX, AI-powered chat for end-to-end request resolution, and a design aesthetic comparable to leading fintech companies. The Senior Product Manager will own the broker and insured experience, with a key metric being the reduction of inbound servicing requests through self-service and education. This is an end-to-end execution role where product and engineering collaborate closely, allowing product talent to operate fluidly across strategy, data, design, and engineering. The successful candidate will write PRDs, execute on them, contribute code, analyze data, and own results from concept to post-launch.

Requirements

  • Shipped meaningful work (beyond simple prototypes) with an AI engineering tool (Claude Code, Codex, Devin, etc.) and can show commits.
  • 5+ years of experience at a firm that achieved scale, ideally InsureTech, FinTech, or Consulting.
  • Ability to build things directly and execute end-to-end.
  • Experience with data analysis in a data warehouse.
  • Understanding of intent coverage, resolution rate, and escalation design for conversational AI.
  • Experience owning a self-service or support-deflection number and successfully moving it.
  • Experience building for an intermediary.
  • References from peer department managers (Engineering, Design, Ops/Servicing) that highlight positive working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Consumer-grade product taste, ideally from fintech.
  • Experience shipping experiences where the first 30 seconds are critical for retention.
  • Ability to articulate why a flow feels good or bad, backed by data.
  • Fluent in Figma and experience using AI-assisted design tools.
  • Experience taking own designs to production.
  • Experience shipping conversational AI that resolves, not just deflects.
  • Understanding of the difference between deflection and abandonment.
  • Two-sided empathy, understanding both broker and insured user needs.
  • Experience in a growth-stage environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the broker experience, ensuring quote, bind, and servicing flows are fast, self-explanatory, and visually appealing.
  • Own the design system and set the product taste across all broker-facing surfaces.
  • Develop and implement an AI chat assistant capable of resolving top servicing requests (certificates, endorsements, billing, policy documents, coverage questions) end-to-end.
  • Design and implement graceful redirects for education and self-service, aiming to reduce servicing requests per policy.
  • Track servicing deflection by request type and cohort, driving the reduction curve down each quarter.
  • Extend the same high standards to the insured experience, covering onboarding, documents, payments, and claims intake for routine work.
  • Ship meaningful work with AI engineering tools, contributing code and analyzing data.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and operations/servicing teams.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $190,000 - $300,000
