About The Position

Merge medical imaging solutions, offered by Merative, combine intelligent, scalable imaging workflow tools with deep and broad expertise to help healthcare organizations improve their confidence in patient outcomes and optimize care delivery. Merge is one of the most widely deployed medical imaging platforms in the world. Radiologists and cardiologists rely on us to store, move, and read imaging studies across enterprise health systems, teleradiology reading centers, and community hospitals. We are modernizing the portfolio for the cloud and building empowered product teams that own outcomes — and this role builds the operating model and design foundation those teams run on. This is an enabling-function leadership role with three connected parts. Product Operations is how product gets built and run — the product development lifecycle, program management, the operating cadence, and the tooling and data that keep everyone working from one source of truth. AI enablement is how we make that lifecycle faster and sharper — using AI to accelerate funnel development, build and pressure-test business cases, and prioritize where the org spends its capacity. UX is product design, user research, and the design system that make the reading experience consistent, usable, and clinically sound. Together they are the backbone that lets empowered teams move fast without losing quality. You will report directly to the VP, Product, and lead across all three — serving every product team rather than owning a single product.

Requirements

  • 8+ years across product operations, program management, and/or design leadership, including running cross-functional operating models.
  • Experience standardizing a product development lifecycle and operating cadence for multiple teams.
  • Hands-on experience embedding AI into how product teams discover, build, and ship — and using it to speed up the funnel, business cases, and prioritization.
  • Program and release management skill — you make dependencies, risk, and progress visible and keep initiatives on track.
  • Design and research leadership — you have led or partnered closely with UX and owned or grown a design system.
  • Fluency with product tooling and metrics, and a bias toward one source of truth.
  • People leadership and clear, plain communication with product, engineering, design, and executives.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in healthcare, medical imaging, or another regulated domain.
  • Experience with AI-assisted research, synthesis, or evaluation tooling in a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and regulated software development.

Responsibilities

  • Operating model and cadence. Own how product is built and run: the product development lifecycle, the operating rhythm of planning, reviews, and metrics, and portfolio operations across teams.
  • Program management. Own program and release management — keeping cross-team initiatives on track and dependencies, risks, and progress visible to leadership.
  • Tooling and data. Own the product toolchain and the portfolio data and metrics, so teams and leaders share one trustworthy view of how we are doing.
  • AI enablement and AI-accelerated PDLC. Own how AI is applied to the lifecycle itself — compressing the path from opportunity to validated, scoped work; standing up business cases with AI-assisted sizing and evidence; and sharpening portfolio prioritization.
  • Design and research (UX). Lead product design, user research, and the design system — partnering with product and engineering from discovery through launch.
  • Standardize the product development lifecycle and operating cadence so teams discover, build, and ship consistently — with AI embedded in how the org works.
  • Use AI to accelerate funnel development — shortening the path from raw opportunity to validated, scoped, ready-to-build work.
  • Build the business-case discipline — AI-assisted market sizing, evidence, and ROI so investment decisions are fast, consistent, and defensible.
  • Own how the portfolio gets prioritized — a transparent, evidence-backed model for ranking work and reallocating capacity as the evidence changes.
  • Lead program management across the portfolio and give leadership a clear, current view of progress and risk.
  • Own the product toolchain and portfolio metrics; resolve friction so teams work from one source of truth.
  • Lead and grow the UX team, and evolve a design system that keeps the experience coherent across products.
  • Run the early-access and customer-advisory motion that brings clinician feedback into the product early.
  • Build, coach, and retain a team spanning operations and design.
