About The Position

At Mondo Robot, we design and build digital experiences that move the human experience forward. We specialize in experience strategy, product design, interactive design, digital branding, full stack engineering and buttery smooth interfaces. We are looking for someone to enter our circle of designers who can collaborate in the execution of engaging and effective digital experience work as a key tactical contributor in the design process, while setting a standard of execution that elevates the experiences we create and inspires the culture and practices of our team. As a Senior Product Designer - UX Focus at Mondo Robot, you’ll be an emerging design leader who will work directly with other designers, cross-functional team members and key partner stakeholders to conceptualize, define, and design the strategy, experience design and user interfaces for innovative digital products and interactive experiences. You’ll be both passionate and pragmatic, working autonomously and thinking broadly across platforms and domains while diving deep into pixels, micro-interactions, and overarching vision. You’ll be a standard bearer in your chosen design specializations who can lead by example and inspire other designers on the team, with a strong bias for action including the ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a collaborative, fast paced and dynamic environment. We are based out of Boulder, CO, but this role is fully remote. You will report to the Executive Creative Director.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a UX, UI or Product Designer, preferably in a product company or agency environment.
• Ability to work autonomously on large scale digital product and interactive experience design projects as a primary tactical contributor.
• Strong skills in Figma, Adobe CC and any other relevant design tools.
• Specialization in one or more key areas of the digital experience design process, including product strategy, UX, UI and interactive design; or general skills in each that go deep enough to execute holistically across entire projects.
• Meticulous attention to detail and rigorous documentation habits.
• Hunger for learning more about your chosen specializations.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with colleagues and partners.
• Having a top-notch portfolio that reflects strengths in conceptual thinking, UX, and visual design.

Nice To Haves

• Designing for a range of digital products and experiences across channels, industries and audiences.
• Experience with 3D, Animation, Illustration, Video Editing and Front End Engineering.
• User research and user testing, including quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
• Generative AI tools, including Claude, MidJourney, ChatGPT and generative video.
• Agile software development process and the role of design therein.

• Lead by example and inspire other designers on the team.
• Juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a collaborative, fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Ask the right questions, identify key challenges, determine opportunities, and propose elegant design solutions.
• Develop, articulate and leverage strategic perspectives in the design process.
• Understand the needs of the user, business operator, brand and engineering teams, to ensure design solutions deliver real value to each of them.
• Collaborate with design talent across a variety of specializations, including strategy, UX, UI, interactive and prototyping.
• Defend your work effectively and appropriately with strong rationale, and feed off of meaningful feedback.
• Contribute to all phases of design.
• Develop focused narratives that support the work, with the ability to present them to internal teams and client partners.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners and subject matter experts across the project workflow and seek to let their expertise influence the outcomes of your design.
• Inspire others on your team with the way you do and position your work.
• Collaborate with your team to create the best possible, most well-crafted product.
• Research and understand conventional and novel design patterns across UX and UI, and consider their utility within the context of your own designs.
• Use emotional intelligence and empathy to build strong bonds within internal and external teams.
• Generate alignment on design solutions with unique perspectives and documentation.
• Analyze and organize complex content structures.
• Understand the impact technology and business requirements have on the feasibility of a design solution.
• Stay on top of emerging technology and design trends.
