About The Position

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. Its software ecosystem is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that converts data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. The Product Design team works across the ecosystem to ensure products and workflows scale across platforms, mission types, and domains, partnering with engineers, product managers, and customers to build trusted experiences and reduce operator cognitive burden. As a Senior Product Designer on the Lattice Mission Autonomy team, you will own the design vision for unified command and control of hundreds of autonomous vehicles. Your work will span fleet management, mission planning, live execution, autonomous collaboration, and generative AI, helping shape how military operators use robots at scale across air, ground, surface, and subsurface domains. You will collaborate with the team’s designer from discovery through delivery, conduct customer research and testing, translate complex technical challenges into clear interfaces, and work with product and engineering to deliver critical functionality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UX, or HCI, with the ability to execute high-craft, technically informed solutions.
  • Ability to independently drive feature-level and system-level design work and navigate complex ambiguity with sound judgment.
  • Deep expertise in visual and interaction design, including designing complex technical workflows where precision, clarity, and attention to detail are critical; portfolio demonstrating elegant solutions and high craft quality.
  • Systems-thinking mindset and ability to map user journeys across multiple user types and operational contexts.
  • Strong prototyping skills to drive clarity in decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate the rationale behind design decisions and demonstrate experience navigating complex stakeholder requirements across engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance with SCI eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing technical, operator-focused software in aviation, autonomous systems, robotics, industrial control systems, logistics, or similar complex operational contexts.
  • Familiarity with workflows involving planning, execution, monitoring, or debrief of autonomous or distributed systems.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality design work in fast-paced, mission-critical environments with shifting priorities and ambiguity.
  • Experience helping mature a product from early development to operational readiness.
  • Experience working within established design systems while contributing thoughtful extensions for domain-specific needs.
  • Experience leading user research sessions, including customer discovery, usability testing, and synthesis of complex feedback loops.
  • Facilitation skills to lead workshops, guide cross-functional alignment, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Familiarity with designing for constrained, high-stakes, or safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Mission Autonomy team's designer to shape experiences from discovery to delivery, maturing fielded capabilities and expanding workflows as programs launch.
  • Spend time on-site with soldiers and subject matter experts to build user empathy, understand pain points, and test design hypotheses through workshops, field observations, and iterative prototyping.
  • Create product narratives, journey maps, user workflows, high-fidelity mockups, and rigorous documentation.
  • Turn ambiguous design challenges and technically complex software into polished, clear interfaces that operators can use with ease.
  • Partner with engineering and product to define delivery timelines and prioritize getting critical functionality to operators.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic reuse across Anduril interfaces, leveraging and extending the design system for operation at scale.
  • Contribute to the central design team through design critiques, mentoring peers, and sharing best practices across specialties.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers.
  • Top-tier benefits package, available at little to no cost to employees, supporting health and recovery.
