About The Position

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company developing advanced technology to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities. Its software ecosystem is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-enabled operating system that integrates data streams into a real-time, 3D command-and-control center. The Product Design team works across the software ecosystem to ensure experiences scale thoughtfully across platforms, mission types, and domains, partnering with engineers, product managers, and customers to build operator trust, expand capacity, prioritize safety, and reduce cognitive burden. As a Senior Product Designer on the Lattice Mission Autonomy team, you will own the design vision for unified command and control of hundreds of autonomous vehicles. The work spans fleet management, mission planning, live execution, autonomous collaboration, and generative AI, shaping how military operators use robotic systems at scale across air, ground, surface, and subsurface domains. You will collaborate with the team's designer from discovery through delivery, mature capabilities for fielded use, and support new workflows as programs launch.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in product design, UX, or HCI, with the ability to execute high-craft, technically informed solutions.
  • Ability to independently drive feature-level and system-level design work and navigate ambiguity with sound judgment.
  • Deep expertise in visual and interaction design, including designing complex technical workflows where precision, clarity, and attention to detail are critical; portfolio demonstrating elegant solutions and high craft quality.
  • Systems-thinking ability to map user journeys across multiple user types and operational contexts.
  • Strong prototyping skills to support decision-making.
  • Ability to explain the rationale behind design decisions and demonstrate experience navigating complex stakeholder requirements across engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance with SCI eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing technical, operator-focused software in aviation, autonomous systems, robotics, industrial control systems, logistics, or similar complex operational contexts.
  • Familiarity with workflows for planning, execution, monitoring, or debriefing autonomous or distributed systems.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality design in fast-paced, mission-critical environments with shifting priorities and ambiguity.
  • Experience maturing a product from early development to operational readiness.
  • Experience working within established design systems and contributing thoughtful extensions for domain-specific needs.
  • Experience leading user research, including customer discovery, usability testing, and synthesis of complex feedback loops.
  • Facilitation skills for leading workshops, guiding cross-functional alignment, and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Familiarity with constrained, high-stakes, or safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Mission Autonomy team's designer to shape experiences from discovery to delivery, maturing capabilities for fielded use and expanding into new workflows as programs launch.
  • Spend time on-site with soldiers and subject matter experts to build user empathy, understand pain points, and test design hypotheses through workshops, field observations, and iterative prototyping.
  • Communicate product direction through narratives, journey maps, user workflows, high-fidelity mockups, and rigorous documentation.
  • Turn ambiguous design challenges and technically complex software into polished, clear interfaces that operators can readily use.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to define delivery timelines and prioritize getting critical functionality to operators.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic reuse across Anduril interfaces by leveraging and extending the design system for operational scale.
  • Participate in design critiques, mentor peers, and share best practices across specialties as part of the central design team.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of total compensation.
  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees, supporting health and recovery.
