Senior Product Designer

Raylu AI•New York, NY
•$150,000 - $250,000•Onsite

About The Position

Raylu is hiring a Senior Product Designer to shape how investors find and act on private-market deals. The designer will work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Growth in an early-stage company that ships weekly, learns from customers, and adapts as plans change. The role spans the product from early concepts through launch, with responsibility for helping determine what the team builds next. The designer will make data-dense workflows—including market maps, company signals, research, and outreach—simple, fast, and trustworthy for investors. The role includes end-to-end feature design, rapid prototyping, ongoing user research, close collaboration with engineering, ownership of outcomes, and development of shared design systems and reusable components. In the first 30 days, the designer will learn the product and users, join customer calls, interview investors, audit the experience, and ship an improvement within the first two weeks. By days 31–60, they will continue improving a core workflow and building the design-system foundation. By days 61–90, they will lead design for a major feature from concept to launch and propose priorities for the next quarter. Raylu describes itself as an AI origination engine for private markets, purpose-built for Growth Equity and PE. Its product offers real-time market maps, standardized and enriched company signals and benchmarks, contextual company research, and automated outreach in a fund’s voice. The position is based in a high-performance, in-office culture in Midtown Manhattan, Monday through Friday. Compensation is $150,000–$250,000 base plus meaningful equity.

Requirements

  • Startup product design experience, with work that can be explained from problem through shipped result.
  • Systems thinking and experience tackling open-ended problems rather than only one-off feature flows.
  • Strong craft and judgment, including attention to polish and detail and the ability to balance speed with refinement.
  • Prototyping instinct: think in interactions and use AI tools, Figma, or code to test ideas quickly.
  • Clear communication and ability to explain tradeoffs to engineers, founders, and customers.
  • Bias to action; ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and ship without waiting for perfect specifications.
  • Resilience in response to tough feedback, canceled ideas, and changing priorities.
  • Low-ego collaboration, openness to critique, and commitment to strong work.
  • Constructive approach under pressure and ability to raise the energy of the team.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Curiosity and ability to learn finance quickly; prior finance knowledge is not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing B2B products with data-dense workflows such as dashboards, analytics, research, or alerting tools.
  • Understanding of private markets or financial services, including PE, growth equity, VC, investment banking, or hedge funds.
  • Experience designing AI-native products or new interaction patterns for working with AI.
  • Experience building or contributing to a design system.

Responsibilities

  • Own feature design end to end, from ambiguous problem definition through wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and shipped product.
  • Design interfaces for data-dense investor workflows, including market maps, company signals, research, and outreach.
  • Ship work weekly, put it in front of users early, and iterate based on what is live.
  • Own design outcomes through launch, measure results, and address what does not work.
  • Prototype quickly using AI tools, Figma, or code, and explore interaction patterns for working alongside AI.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, understand technical constraints, refine what ships, and maintain a high standard of polish.
  • Conduct ongoing user interviews and usability tests with investors, synthesize findings, and help shape the roadmap.
  • Identify patterns across the product and build a shared design system and reusable components.
  • Prioritize work and drive it forward independently.
  • Learn the product and users, attend customer calls, interview investors, audit the experience, and ship an initial improvement within the first two weeks.
  • Improve a core workflow and develop the design-system foundations during the first 60 days.
  • Lead design for a major new feature from concept to launch by days 61–90 and propose design priorities for the next quarter.
