Senior Product Designer

Urban Ridge Supplies•New York, NY

About The Position

Zeta Global is hiring a Senior Product Designer for a six-month contract to help shape design across the Zeta Marketing Platform (ZMP), Athena OS, Agentic Apps, and Data Cloud. The role works across the Product Design team’s highest-leverage problems rather than owning a single product surface, partnering with the design system team and Product and Engineering triads to turn complex platform and data requirements into clear, consistent, useful customer experiences. The designer will lead data-visualization-focused experiences, contribute to AI and agentic interaction patterns, and strengthen shared design systems, processes, and quality standards. The role emphasizes end-to-end product design craft, including UX, visual and interaction design, motion, prototyping, and data visualization. It also calls for strong product judgment, technical collaboration, autonomy, and the ability to influence and mentor without formal management authority. This is a foundational role with broad influence over how Zeta’s products and teams work. The designer will help establish standards and scalable patterns, present data-heavy work to executive stakeholders, and enable teams to move quickly while maintaining clarity and quality. Compensation is $70–$80 per hour, depending on location and experience.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of product design experience, with meaningful experience in complex platforms, systems, or tools; B2B, SaaS, or AI-driven product experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading foundational or platform-level design work that scales across teams, products, or workflows.
  • Hands-on experience designing and shipping features, workflows, or systems within large, complex platforms.
  • Proven ability to partner closely with Product and Engineering in fast-paced environments, ideally across multiple product areas or teams.
  • Experience mentoring designers, influencing standards, and shaping how design work scales without formal management responsibility.
  • Experience presenting and iterating on data visualization or dashboard design with executive stakeholders.
  • Expert-level Figma experience, including scalable component architecture, variants, auto-layout, design tokens, and shared libraries.
  • Ability to design scalable systems, frameworks, and interfaces and work across a broad platform rather than a narrow surface.
  • Solid understanding of AI-powered workflows, agentic systems, and emerging interaction patterns, including hands-on use of AI tools in product design.
  • Excellence in UX, visual design, interaction design, and motion, with a strong emphasis on data visualization and technically complex workflows.
  • Strong product thinking, including the ability to articulate user problems, jobs, system behavior, and outcomes; design intent-led flows; and recognize when additional UI is unnecessary.
  • Understanding of animation as a UX tool, including communicating system state, AI progress and confidence, and loading, generating, refining, success, failure, or partial-result states.
  • Comfort partnering with engineers, understanding technical constraints, and prototyping at low or high fidelity using coded or no-code approaches.
  • Ability to influence outcomes through clear communication, critique, documentation, and example-setting rather than formal authority.
  • Confidence explaining data visualization principles to designers, product managers, engineers, and executives; applying appropriate chart types, accessible color and encoding, clear axes and labels, and suitable information density.
  • Regular hands-on use of AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for ideation, exploration, synthesis, critique, or system thinking.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted build and prototyping tools such as Cursor, Bolt, Lovable, or Claude Code.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern frontend concepts; ability to read code and understand implementation tradeoffs.
  • Comfort with modern product development and collaboration workflows and tools.
  • Familiarity with MCP concepts, including how context, memory, tools, and agents affect system behavior and user experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously, handle ambiguity, communicate clearly, exercise strong judgment, take ownership, and balance craft with pragmatic delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with complex B2B, SaaS, or AI-driven products.
  • Familiarity with Storybook and React/Next.js.
  • Experience with Rive, Motion.dev, Framer Motion, GSAP, or D3 for micro-animations and stateful interactions.
  • Experience with Figma Prototypes, Framer, ProtoPie, or similar prototyping tools.
  • Working knowledge of D3, Chart.js, Highcharts, Observable Plot, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools and how they map to Figma-designed chart components.
  • Experience with Rive, FigJam, and Figma Slides.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve data-visualization-focused experiences across ZMP, Athena OS, Agentic Apps, and Data Cloud-facing surfaces, shifting between areas as priorities change.
  • Manage and improve shared design processes and provide quality oversight across the product ecosystem.
  • Contribute to scalable design foundations, systems, frameworks, and reusable patterns that support consistency, flexibility, and quality.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to define strategy, scope, and execution, translating complex requirements and technical constraints into intuitive experiences.
  • Iterate on concepts and workflows to address customer use cases across product areas.
  • Contribute to AI interaction models, agentic patterns, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) thinking where relevant.
  • Shape how data is surfaced, visualized, and understood so users can understand, trust, and act on it.
  • Apply strong visual, interaction, motion, prototyping, and data visualization craft to improve clarity, polish, and product quality.
  • Select appropriate charts, tables, or single-value displays to communicate data clearly to users and executives.
  • Mentor designers, review work, challenge assumptions, and influence design standards without formal management authority.
  • Present data-heavy design work to executive stakeholders, gather and synthesize feedback, and balance it with user needs and visualization best practices.
  • Use prototypes to explore, validate, and communicate complex ideas in collaboration with engineers.
  • Help establish best practices and processes that let teams scale high-quality product design with speed and consistency.
