Expedia Group’s Product & Technology organization builds end-to-end products for travelers, partners, and the company. The AI Experiences team is shaping travel shopping experiences that help travelers discover options, make informed decisions, and plan trips with confidence. The Senior Product Designer will define how millions of travelers interact with AI throughout their shopping journey, turning evolving AI capabilities into intuitive, transparent, trustworthy experiences. This is a hands-on role involving ambiguity, emerging technology, and globally scaled products. The designer owns AI-powered shopping experiences from opportunity framing and interaction models through execution, launch, and iteration. They design conversational, visual, and multimodal interfaces; collaborate across product, engineering, data science, research, and content; and use prototypes, real AI outputs, research, analytics, experiments, and customer feedback to develop and refine solutions. They also help advance design patterns and practices, mentor and critique with other designers, and champion accessibility, inclusion, and responsible AI design. Success means delivering polished, scalable solutions that build traveler trust, clarify complex problems, align cross-functional teams, and explore AI opportunities with a focus on meaningful customer value. The role is offered at listed locations including Austin, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York, with other Expedia Group locations open for discussion. Total cash ranges vary by location: Seattle and Austin $173,000–$242,500, with potential increases up to $277,000; New York, San Jose, and San Francisco $187,000–$261,500, with potential increases up to $299,000; and Chicago $161,000–$225,500, with potential increases up to $257,500. Starting pay depends on factors including location, budget, knowledge, skills, and experience.
