Senior Product Designer, Growth

VercelSan Francisco, CA
$172,000 - $258,000Hybrid

About The Position

Vercel is seeking a Senior Product Designer, Growth to help define Growth Design at Vercel and shape the complete self-serve journey, encompassing signup, onboarding, first project and deployment, adoption, conversion, expansion, and retention. This role involves working with people, agents, and the handoffs between them. The designer will report into Product Design and collaborate closely with Growth Product, Engineering, and Data teams. Vercel offers unlimited access to leading LLMs and in-house tools for product data exploration, with opportunities to partner with or improve these tools. The role requires adaptability, as priorities change based on evidence, and not all experiments will ship. The position involves finding the right problem, creating solutions, managing implementation, and accountability post-launch. Depending on proximity to Vercel offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role may include in-office anchor days; otherwise, it is fully remote.

Requirements

  • Portfolio demonstrates strong product design fundamentals and measurable outcomes, showing how opportunities were identified, a funnel was understood, measurement choices were made, ideas were tested, and a shipped product was improved.
  • Experience owning ambiguous, complex work from problem framing through launch and iteration, creating clarity and making progress without waiting for a complete brief.
  • Ability to form useful hypotheses, choose success and guardrail measures, and interpret quantitative and qualitative evidence with Data partners.
  • Proficiency in building interactive prototypes independently using modern AI tools, comfortable prompting, working near code, and learning new tools to validate ideas.
  • Skill in designing clear, trustworthy experiences across skill levels and abilities, with attention to interaction details, edge cases, language, accessibility, and recovery.
  • Experience working directly with Product, Engineering, and Data teams, explaining tradeoffs clearly, seeking feedback early, and staying involved through implementation.
  • Understanding of when to use or evolve a system and when a one-off is the fastest responsible way to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Shipped AI or agent experiences.
  • An engineering background or experience contributing production web code.
  • Designed developer tools, infrastructure, or other technical products, or are already familiar with Vercel.

Responsibilities

  • Own the self-serve experience across onboarding, activation, adoption, monetization, and retention for people and agents.
  • Find high-impact opportunities through customer research, product data, and direct use of Vercel.
  • Co-own Growth strategy, priorities, hypotheses, and success measures with Growth Product, Engineering, and Data.
  • Build and test working prototypes using the right tools for the question, including Figma, v0, Cursor, and Claude Code.
  • Design and ship experiments, stay involved through implementation, and interpret results without losing sight of trust, accessibility, or the broader funnel.
  • Turn what works into durable product improvements, reusable patterns, and better internal tools. Share the learning so Design and Growth improve with every experiment.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - mentorship and attendance at events for networking and skill-building.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • Company-provided gear and a WFH budget.
