About The Position

The Senior Principal Product Manager – Audit AI is a senior individual contributor leading product management for Vertex’s AI-powered audit workflows for indirect tax. This role will define, build, and scale an AI-first solution for indirect tax audit and notice management, helping enterprises triage, gather, interpret, and respond to complex audit notices and audits. The role owns the product lifecycle, from market discovery and product strategy through roadmap prioritization, feature definition, and delivery. It applies expertise in tax audit management and notice response workflows to create a differentiated AI-enabled product experience. The position also establishes a multi-year AI-first vision, shapes AI capabilities from concept to delivery—including model training cycles and benchmark evaluations—and develops evaluation frameworks intended to prevent critical compliance errors. The product manager partners with UX, Engineering, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Consulting, and engages directly with customers to validate product direction and deliver measurable value across the notice response lifecycle. Vertex describes a culture focused on customer outcomes, teamwork, integrity, agility, innovation, and transparent communication.
