About The Position

The Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will lead mechanical integration for data center infrastructure, with a focus on liquid cooling systems. The role requires a strong understanding of thermal-component manufacturing processes and thermal design and analysis. Responsibilities include developing specifications, selecting and placing components, choosing fastening methods, and transitioning designs into manufacturing. The engineer will also lead test-process implementation and equipment selection to support operational excellence and reliability. The position serves as a subject matter expert in single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling for hyperscale data centers, including primary, in-rack, enclosed, and facility-based cooling solutions. It covers cooling distribution units, high-density liquid cooling products, rack manifolds, piping systems, and integration with equipment such as chillers, heat exchangers, and air handler units. The engineer will design for modular, prefabricated, and skid-mounted deployments, considering factory validation, transport and vibration loads, shipping constraints, and field connection interfaces. The role is remote or based in Austin, Texas, and may require domestic and/or international travel, generally described as 20%–30% and elsewhere as up to 30%.
