About The Position

Jabil is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer with hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting enterprise server, storage, networking, GPU, or AI compute platforms in a manufacturing or production environment, with a focus on liquid cooling technology. The role develops, integrates, and continuously improves next-generation compute platforms, including AI/ML, GPGPU, server, networking, and storage systems. It leads test engineering activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment, advancing product quality, system performance, and operational excellence through troubleshooting, automation, and team leadership. This is not a software QA, application testing, or web-services testing role. The engineer designs and maintains factory test procedures and systems, supports failure analysis, NPI readiness and production ramp, and applies Linux, scripting, hardware diagnostics, networking, and production data analysis. Liquid cooling work involves applying thermal and fluid principles to cooling systems and working with associated components, instrumentation, safety practices, standards, and facility systems. The role also leads and develops engineers and technicians, manages performance, aligns engineering strategy with business goals, and drives operational improvements. The position is based onsite in Florence, Kentucky, with a combination of office and manufacturing-floor work in a modern, climate-controlled production environment. The role involves frequent movement on the manufacturing floor, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and extended computer use. Required PPE includes safety shoes, eyewear, hearing protection, and an ESD vest; production areas have moderate noise levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; alternatively, a master’s degree and 2 years of experience.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in test engineering, failure analysis, or hardware validation in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with server, networking, and storage systems.
  • Experience in Linux environments and scripting with Python and/or Bash.
  • Experience supporting high-volume production and NPI.
  • Experience presenting technical data and leading cross-functional discussions.
  • Manufacturing test development for enterprise servers, storage, networking, or AI/GPU platforms.
  • Linux administration and command-line troubleshooting expertise.
  • Hardware failure analysis and server hardware diagnostics.
  • Experience with factory test automation and production ramp support.
  • Knowledge of JSON, system logs, and automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of compute architecture and server platforms.
  • Networking knowledge including switches, routers, optical systems, IP, and Layer 3.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and statistical analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work extended periods on computer systems and move frequently, including walking on the manufacturing floor.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with liquid cooling technology and systems.
  • Experience supporting immersion and direct-to-chip cooling technologies.
  • Familiarity with OCP standards, BMS/SCADA systems, and specialized cooling equipment.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing test engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain test procedures, test systems, hardware, and software for advanced compute platforms.
  • Lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations across hardware and software domains.
  • Troubleshoot server, networking, storage, and accelerator-based systems.
  • Support AI/ML, GPU, and high-performance compute platforms through integration and production.
  • Interpret test logs, JSON outputs, and system data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Develop and deploy automation using Python and Bash scripting.
  • Analyze manufacturing and system data using Excel and Power BI.
  • Support NPI readiness and production ramp.
  • Configure and troubleshoot networking systems, including switches, routers, LAN/WAN, and Layer 3 systems.
  • Support optical networking technologies, including transceivers and fiber optics.
  • Use Linux command-line tools and scripting, and train others in their use.
  • Apply heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics principles to liquid cooling systems.
  • Work with liquid-cooling components including pumps, cold plates, chillers, reservoirs, tubing, and coolants such as PG25.
  • Use thermocouples, flow meters, and pressure sensors.
  • Perform leak detection, material compatibility analysis, and coolant safety procedures.
  • Support immersion and direct-to-chip cooling technologies.
  • Work with OCP standards, BMS/SCADA systems, and specialized equipment including particle analyzers, pressure testers, and fill/flush/purge systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Test Engineers and technicians; recruit, interview, and retain talent; and build training programs and team capabilities.
  • Set measurable goals, provide coaching and feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and drive productivity, quality, and engagement improvements.
  • Align test engineering strategy with site and organizational goals; lead workcell test engineering teams and customer programs.
  • Present technical findings and communicate with stakeholders and customers.
  • Apply LEAN manufacturing principles and quality metrics such as Yield, GRR, and DPPM.
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities through process optimization and automation, monitor test performance, and implement improvements across programs.
