About The Position

Jabil is hiring an Industrial Engineer to develop, implement, optimize, and sustain production methods and process controls for new and existing assembly operations involving liquid-cooled server and rack systems. The role supports next-generation liquid-cooling solutions used in high-performance computing and AI infrastructure, including new manufacturing technology launches, NPI, production ramp, and ongoing operational excellence initiatives. It is a hands-on, factory-based position at Jabil’s Florence, Kentucky facility and is fully on-site. Relocation assistance is available to candidates who live more than 50 miles from the Florence area. The engineer will develop and improve liquid-cooling manufacturing processes, including pressure and leak testing, fluid handling, and process monitoring. The role also covers equipment lifecycle management, commissioning and validation, maintenance planning, process documentation, risk assessment, and data-driven continuous improvement. The position works closely with manufacturing, design, quality, maintenance, and EHS teams to improve throughput, product quality, reliability, safety, sustainability, and operating costs. The ideal candidate has experience manufacturing liquid-cooled technology, preferably in server, data center, or related hardware, though strong liquid-cooling expertise from another industry will also be considered. The role requires regular engagement with production equipment and processes on the factory floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering discipline within a fast-paced manufacturing environment; equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting working with liquid-cooled technology, ideally involving computer/server hardware or data center cooling systems.
  • Proficiency with process control systems, instrumentation, and sensor technologies used in monitoring and automation.
  • Demonstrated experience with DMAIC, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen, 5-Why, and FMEA.
  • Strong analytical skills, communication skills, and technical writing abilities for documenting processes and reporting results.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders using data-driven insights to drive process changes and improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, highly constrained production environment.
  • Hands-on approach and teamwork orientation, including willingness to work on the factory floor with equipment and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in server, storage, networking, or rack-level hardware manufacturing.
  • Experience with liquid-cooled products or fluid-handling systems.
  • Experience with data center infrastructure equipment.
  • Experience with AI or GPU server platforms.
  • Experience with high-volume electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Experience with manufacturing process validation and production ramp activities.
  • Experience designing, operating, or maintaining liquid-cooling technologies in electronics or related applications.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification, or formal training in Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools such as SolidWorks for fixtures, layouts, or process equipment modifications.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management standards and related manufacturing regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), particularly for monitoring environmental controls and production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement pressure-testing procedures for liquid-cooling assemblies to verify system integrity, prevent leaks, and meet industry and customer quality requirements.
  • Improve the manufacturability, cycle time, and reliability of liquid-cooling assemblies.
  • Develop and implement leak-testing processes, identify potential leaks, and address their root causes.
  • Implement and optimize cooling and fluid-handling processes to improve efficiency, reliability, safety, and sustainability.
  • Identify and resolve production and liquid-cooling workflow bottlenecks to improve throughput and quality.
  • Design, configure, and monitor process performance during manufacturing and operational phases, ensuring processes remain within specified parameters.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, flow charts, and control plans for critical processes.
  • Reduce energy consumption, fluid waste, and operating costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor process parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow rate, and glycol concentration, and address deviations from operating thresholds.
  • Analyze process data to identify trends, predict failures, and support preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Develop and manage maintenance plans for process equipment and assets to support uptime and reliability.
  • Work with EHS teams to develop and enforce safety procedures for leak mitigation, waste disposal, and fluid handling.
  • Conduct Critical-to-Quality analyses and risk assessments to identify potential failure modes and quality improvement opportunities.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of process equipment, from selection and commissioning through performance monitoring, troubleshooting, servicing, and upgrades.
  • Support commissioning and validation of new cooling systems and upgrades, confirming design requirements and production integration.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, design, quality, and maintenance teams to use data-driven insights and implement continuous process improvements.
