About The Position

As Senior Principal, Change Management, you will serve as the senior change leader embedded within the Enterprise Transformation team, leading organizational change strategies and execution to help capability improvement programs succeed and sustain adoption across the business. You will apply the enterprise Change Management CoE framework to the specific programs, stakeholders, and organizational contexts in the Transformation portfolio. This hands-on senior role has significant executive visibility. You will provide change leadership across major Transformation initiatives from program design through sustained adoption, partnering with program leaders, business sponsors, and the enterprise CoE. A central focus will be change leadership for Waters’ Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) implementation, a complex, cross-functional program, and related R&D process and portfolio redesign.

  • At least 12 years of progressive change management experience, including at least 5 years leading change on complex, large-scale transformation programs.
  • A demonstrated track record of driving successful adoption in matrixed enterprise environments.
  • Experience working within or alongside a Change Management CoE, applying enterprise frameworks to program-specific contexts and contributing to their improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent change workstreams across a transformation portfolio and proactively address change collisions and organizational capacity constraints.
  • Deep expertise in structured change management methodologies such as Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter, or equivalent, with the judgment to adapt them to complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect change strategies and adoption with commercial and operational outcomes and value realization.
  • Exceptional executive communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to build trust, manage resistance, and influence senior leaders across business units and geographies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute targeted communication strategies and change narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Experience defining and tracking adoption metrics that measure behavioral and operational change, not just activity completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Prosci Certification, CCMP (ACMP), or equivalent formal change management credential.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience leading change management for a PLM system implementation, such as PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault ENOVIA, Arena, or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with MedTech, IVD, Life Sciences, or other regulated-industry environments, including interactions between change management and Quality, Regulatory, and Compliance functions.
  • Experience with enterprise system implementations such as ERP, PLM, or CRM in a change leadership capacity, including management of technical and cultural dimensions of adoption.
  • Post-merger integration experience aligning change approaches across legacy organizational cultures and harmonizing ways of working across newly combined entities.
  • Exposure to organizational network analysis, digital adoption platforms such as WalkMe or Whatfix, or AI-enabled change analytics.
  • Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • PMP or equivalent program management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead change management for the Product Lifecycle Management implementation and related R&D process and portfolio redesign across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
  • Help senior leaders across business units and regions understand and fulfill their sponsorship responsibilities; use two-way dialogue to identify resistance and risks early.
  • Assess people, process, role, and technology impacts; identify conflicts between concurrent initiatives and advise on sequencing and pacing.
  • Develop audience-specific communication strategies that connect each initiative’s purpose to business outcomes and align messaging with corporate communications.
  • Oversee targeted, measurable training as part of adoption plans and build internal capability to sustain new processes and tools after go-live.
  • Define and track adoption metrics beyond training completion, report on change health, and recommend course corrections.
  • Contribute field insights and practitioner input to the Change Management CoE to help improve the enterprise framework.
