We are seeking a Senior Networking Systems Engineer to join our State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) organization, supporting Local Government and K-12 customers throughout Georgia. This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused technical leader who enjoys solving complex business challenges, building trusted customer relationships, and helping organizations modernize their networking infrastructure. As a Senior Networking Systems Engineer, you will serve as the primary pre-sales technical advisor for your assigned territory, partnering closely with Territory Managers to identify opportunities, develop innovative networking solutions, and guide customers through every stage of the sales cycle—from discovery through implementation planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with successful pre-sales, systems engineering, solution consulting, or customer-facing technical experience.
  • Strong expertise across enterprise networking technologies, including: Routing & Switching, Wired and Wireless Networking, Campus and Branch Networking, Network Security, Network Access Control (NAC), Cloud-managed networking platforms
  • Experience designing and presenting enterprise networking solutions for complex customer environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive decision-makers.
  • Proven consultative selling skills with the ability to translate technical solutions into measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience supporting State, Local Government, or Education customers is highly desirable.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as HPE Aruba Networking, Juniper, Cisco, CWNA, CWDP, CWSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Experience mentoring junior Systems Engineers and collaborating across cross-functional sales teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Territory Managers to identify, qualify, and advance sales opportunities.
  • Design and recommend networking solutions that align with customer business and technical objectives.
  • Lead customer discovery sessions and translate business requirements into scalable networking architectures.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements.
  • Develop solution proposals, technical documentation, and implementation recommendations.
  • Position HPE Networking solutions against competitive offerings by articulating technical and business value.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, services, and channel partners to deliver successful customer outcomes.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitive technologies, and emerging networking innovations.
  • Manage technical opportunities throughout the sales cycle while supporting territory pipeline and revenue objectives.
