Senior Physical Security Systems Engineer

Crusoe•Dallas, TX
•$150,000 - $180,000•Onsite

About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Physical Security Systems Engineer to own the standards, service-level agreements (SLAs), and ongoing performance of the physical security technology stack across its data centers, power generation, manufacturing, construction, and corporate sites. The engineer will establish deployment standards for Design and Construction, validate systems at acceptance, manage operational handoffs, and own configuration, integration health, and lifecycle management after sites go live. The role operates access control, video management, intrusion detection, visitor management, and incident platforms at configuration depth. It also builds and maintains integrations, scripts automation for system health and reporting, partners with IT, Network Engineering, and OT on infrastructure and device security, and maintains firmware, patching, and technology-refresh strategies. The engineer ensures systems produce audit evidence for SOC 2, ISO 27001, NERC CIP, and customer requirements, and collaborates with the GSOC, intelligence, protective operations, and other partner teams. The position is based on-site in Denver or Dallas, with approximately 20–35% domestic travel. On-call availability is required for critical system events, SLA breaches, and major incidents; occasional nights, weekends, and holidays may be needed as operational demands require. The role involves handling sensitive security systems, access data, video content, and company information discreetly.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years operating enterprise physical security systems at operator depth.
  • Hands-on fluency with access control platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Genea, or similar systems.
  • Hands-on fluency with video management systems such as Genetec, Milestone, Ambient, or similar systems.
  • Strong IT and networking fluency, including VLAN segmentation, bandwidth planning, certificate management, Active Directory integration, firmware and patch strategy, and device hardening.
  • Experience setting operational standards and SLAs and holding systems accountable across distributed, multi-site operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication across technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate across the GSOC, Protective Operations, Intelligence, Design and Construction, IT, and Network Engineering.
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 20–35% and respond outside normal business hours when significant situations require support.
  • Ability to handle sensitive security systems, access data, video content, and company information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hyperscale data center, critical infrastructure, power generation, or technology environment.
  • NERC CIP compliance experience.
  • Advanced scripting, API, or automation experience applied to physical security systems.
  • Prior experience at Meta, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Equinix, Digital Realty, CyrusOne, Vantage, Tesla, SpaceX, Apple, or a peer organization.
  • Vendor-side or integrator-side senior engineering experience and a desire to move to a client-side operator role.
  • Military signals, communications, OT engineering, or physical security MOS translation.
  • Certifications such as PSP, CPP, platform-specific certifications (Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, Verkada, Ambient), or network certifications (CCNA, Security+, or peer).

Responsibilities

  • Set and own physical security systems standards for Design and Construction deployments; validate systems at acceptance and manage the operational handoff into production.
  • Define and own SLAs for platform availability, camera uptime, access control responsiveness, alarm quality, and integration health.
  • Operate access control, video management, intrusion detection, visitor management, and incident platforms at configuration depth.
  • Build and maintain integrations across the technology stack and with Ontic, Active Directory, and mass notification systems.
  • Script automation for health monitoring, SLA reporting, and lifecycle tasks.
  • Partner with Network Engineering, IT, and OT on VLAN segmentation, bandwidth, certificate management, Active Directory integration, and device hardening.
  • Own firmware strategy, patch management, device lifecycle, technology refresh, and health-monitoring dashboards across the footprint.
  • Ensure systems generate audit evidence supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, NERC CIP, and customer contractual requirements; partner with GRC on audit cycles.
  • Coordinate with the GSOC on system health and operator tooling.
  • Partner with the Intelligence Analyst on Ontic deployment.
  • Support Protective Operations on executive protection and event systems.
  • Support crisis and incident response involving physical security.
  • Be available on call for critical systems events, SLA breaches, and major incidents; respond outside normal business hours when significant situations require support.
