About The Position

The Senior Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with preparing and distributing patient medications. The role also supports medication inventory and stocking throughout the hospital using pharmacy inventory systems, and helps review required regulatory paperwork. The position works Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Current Arizona Pharmacy Technician License.
• National Certified Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT or ExCPT).

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile IV medications using aseptic compounding practices in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800, including TPN, IV drips, and chemotherapy.
• Help maintain adequate medication and supply stock according to established inventory control levels.
• Assist with management of automated dispensing machines and reporting for quality and regulatory measures.
• Support pharmacy workflow by directing phone calls to the appropriate staff and delivering patient-specific medications to departments throughout the facility.
• Participate in departmental and hospital quality assurance programs, emphasizing patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with required monthly regulatory inspections of units that stock medications.
