About The Position

Design, develop, and automate performance testing solutions for multiple mobile applications, transitioning manual testing processes into unattended, cloud-based execution within UAT environments. Build and maintain repeatable load-testing scripts, configure automated tests using containers, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure, and create scenarios that assess application performance across varying traffic conditions. Establish scheduled test runs, automated alerts, and threshold-based pass/fail criteria to support release readiness. Analyze test results with reporting and observability tools to identify bottlenecks, degradation, and capacity concerns. The role also includes implementing token-based authentication, expanding test coverage, coordinating with engineering and client stakeholders, and creating technical documentation and operational runbooks. Work within an accelerated delivery timeline to assess existing processes and implement automation improvements.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Consultative approach and problem-solving skills to align digital solutions with clients’ long-term business goals.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance daily work, or a strong desire to experiment with, learn, and champion AI adoption.
  • Commitment to understanding and exceeding client expectations.
  • Flexibility to adapt within a high-growth organization.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate others.
  • Full understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to positively impact colleagues through leadership, presentations, coaching, or similar activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Claude Certified Developer or Architect certification; the posting notes a possible opportunity to obtain it as a Sparq colleague.
  • Experience with k6, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
  • Experience with GCP.
  • Experience with Grafana or Datadog.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and automate performance testing solutions for multiple mobile applications, transitioning manual processes to unattended, cloud-based UAT execution.
  • Build and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as k6, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
  • Configure and execute automated performance tests using containers, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP.
  • Develop ramped-load, capacity, and spike testing scenarios, including scenarios for peak seasonal demand.
  • Establish weekly scheduled performance test runs, automated alerts, and threshold-based pass/fail criteria to support release readiness decisions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and trend test results using reporting and observability tools such as Grafana or Datadog to identify bottlenecks, degradation, and capacity concerns.
  • Implement and maintain token-based authentication in automated test harnesses across testing environments.
  • Expand test coverage with new scenarios, including application capacity validation and peak-volume testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and client stakeholders to resolve environment dependencies, coordinate access, and ensure testing readiness.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, test execution procedures, and operational runbooks to support knowledge transfer and client-team ownership.
  • Assess existing testing processes and implement automation improvements to meet project milestones within an accelerated delivery timeline.
  • Provide project oversight and execute deliverables.
