About The Position

The Senior Payroll Associate position provides audit and input of assigned academic and nonacademic transactions, functioning as the primary source for payroll and personnel policies and procedures. This role advises and assists departmental supervisors on payroll related issues, processes payroll transactions for academic and nonacademic personnel, and assists new employees with completing the appropriate new hire, payroll, and benefit forms. The position is also responsible for departmental foreign national paperwork and compliance for visas, and assists supervisors with the hiring process including job requisitions, PHS entry, and appointment screening. Additionally, the role may maintain sick and vacation leave records, prepare cost-transfers and journals, maintain personnel and payroll related files, assist with documentation for employee evaluations, assist in the annual budget process, ensure accuracy and completion of PAR’s reports, and administer the academic bonus plan and faculty compensation plan.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.

Responsibilities

  • Advises and assists departmental supervisors on payroll related issues.
  • Processes payroll transactions for academic and nonacademic personnel.

  • Responsible for departmental foreign national paperwork and compliance for visas.
  • Assists supervisors with the hiring process including job requisitions, PHS entry and appointment screening.
  • May maintain sick and vacation leave records for staff personnel.
  • Prepares cost-transfers and journals adjusting when necessary.
  • Maintains personnel and payroll related files for department.
  • May assist supervisors with documentation needed for employee evaluation process.
  • May assist in annual budget process.
  • Ensures accuracy and completion of PAR’s reports.
  • Administers academic bonus plan and faculty compensation plan.
