About The Position

Wagner Community Church seeks a Senior Pastor committed to its mission: “Love God, Love His Church, Love His People and Love the Word by Living the Word of God, Praying the Word of God and Preaching the Word of God.” The pastor will provide biblically grounded teaching and preaching, lead and equip the church, support spiritual growth and health, and engage with the congregation and surrounding community. The position requires licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA); applicants may already be credentialed and licensed or be willing to work toward it.

Requirements

• An undergraduate-level or higher degree in Bible or Theology.
• Credentialed and licensed by the C&MA, or working toward or willing to work toward licensing.
• Three to five years of ministry experience as an associate or lead pastor.
• Demonstrated commitment to the spiritual growth and health of the local church.
• Doctrinally sound, including a firm belief in the inerrancy and authority of Scripture.
• A heart for the lost.
• Able to relate well in one-on-one, small-group, and large-group settings.
• Excellent relationship-building skills and a desire to engage both in the church and the community.
• Good listening skills.
• Authentic, caring approach and willingness to visit the congregation.
• Genuine love for people and commitment to collaborative work with church leaders and congregation members.
• Technical competency with Proclaim, recording capabilities, Microsoft Office Suite, and Windows PC software.

Responsibilities

• Provide solid, biblically based teaching and preaching.
• Lead the church and help others develop leadership skills.
• Empower people to lead in their gifting and ministry areas.
• Support church unity, growth, and spiritual health.
• Equip the body.
• Engage with the church and community and maintain a presence in the community.
• Build relationships and collaborate with church leaders and congregation members.
• Listen well and care for the congregation, including visiting members.
