About The Position

Rush City Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to lead their close-knit church in a small town with a vision for vibrant growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about reaching the lost, making disciples, and leading with love. This role involves building meaningful relationships within the community, inspiring the congregation through dynamic communication, guiding with compassion, and mentoring both the congregation and leadership team. The pastor will play a key role in expanding spiritual impact locally and beyond, fostering a community of worship, discipleship, and outreach.

Requirements

Has a vibrant, mature relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through a life of integrity, humility, and prayer.
Holds a bachelor's degree in theology, ministry, or a related field.
Brings 3-5 years of pastoral experience with a proven track record of growth or community impact.
Aligns with the church’s doctrinal beliefs and is committed to faithfully preaching and teaching the Bible.
Is ready to become a member of Rush City Baptist Church and make Rush City their home.
Has a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, living out the character described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4.
Has a heart for reaching the lost through evangelism, with a genuine ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Brings a visionary spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset, ready to lead with adaptability, strategic thinking, and a willingness to embrace change.
Is personable, compassionate, and approachable, creating a welcoming church culture.
Communicates with clarity and inspiration, bringing people together and guiding the church toward our shared mission.
Prioritizes prayer for themselves and the entire church community.

Responsibilities

Bring Scripture to life with engaging and truth-rooted sermons.
Lead Bible studies and discipleship activities.
Seek and lead the church in pursuing God's vision.
Lead, mentor, and oversee pastoral staff for effective ministry.
Identify and nurture lay leadership within the church.
Prioritize support for the Awana program and Youth Group.
Provide pastoral care during life's joys and challenges.
Empower members to take on roles of discipleship and support.
Connect with the unchurched, seeking, and hurting through outreach.
Equip and encourage members to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the community.
Strengthen the partnership with the Ukrainian sister church through communication, prayer, financial support, and potential travel.
Develop and nurture leaders to support church growth.
Foster a culture of joy-filled service.
Assist in managing budgets and ensuring facilities are ready for growth.
Collaborate on new ways to use resources for God's glory and steward them wisely.
