About The Position

Hope City Community Church in El Paso, TX, is seeking an Adult Discipleship Pastor to lead the church into a new era of spiritual formation, biblical literacy, and life-changing community. This role involves championing environments where adults grow deeper in Christ, build meaningful relationships, and become fully engaged disciple-makers. The ideal candidate is a builder and a pioneering leader who thrives in seasons of momentum and is energized by the opportunity to design, shape, and launch new ministry environments. This pastor will also provide synergy and support to the Community Groups Ministry, strengthening group systems, developing leaders, and expanding biblical community. The role requires a collaborative, humble, joyful team player with pastoral warmth and organizational leadership skills, comfortable teaching, designing systems, recruiting leaders, and providing pastoral care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3–5 years of church ministry experience (adult ministry or discipleship preferred)
  • Strong teaching and preaching ability
  • Proven leadership in recruiting, training, and developing volunteers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to design and oversee discipleship environments and pathways
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to build systems and structures
  • Proficient with ministry-related technology (e.g., Planning Center, digital communication tools)
  • Mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Aligns with Hope City’s beliefs, values, and ministry philosophy
  • Relational, approachable, and pastoral
  • Visionary with a strategic mindset
  • Thrives in a high-trust, high-accountability environment
  • Passionate about helping adults grow in their faith

Responsibilities

  • Lead with vision, strategy, and a shepherding heart to cultivate a thriving adult ministry.
  • Develop Bible studies, Community Groups, classes, and spiritual-formation pathways.
  • Design intentional curriculum.
  • Build strong ministry teams.
  • Provide pastoral care for adults in all stages of life.
  • Recruit, train, and empower leaders to multiply ministry impact.
  • Mobilize the church for community engagement, outreach, and service opportunities.
  • Foster partnerships throughout the city.
  • Support the spiritual growth of key adult demographics (young adults, married couples, parents, singles, senior adults).
  • Provide essential synergy and support to the Community Groups Ministry.
  • Strengthen group systems, develop leaders, and expand biblical community.
