About The Position

Delhi Alliance Church, located in the Western Catskill Mountains, is seeking a pastor to guide the church into its next season of ministry. The church seeks a leader grounded in biblical truth who leads warmly, preaches thoughtfully and in a spirit-led manner, and maintains an active presence in the community. The pastor will help bridge generations, build on the congregation’s strengths, and lead with a clear and faithful sense of direction.

The role involves providing engaging, Scripture-grounded preaching and teaching; building genuine relationships across generations through listening and compassionate pastoral care; developing and communicating a vision that honors the church’s heritage while pursuing outreach and ministry opportunities; encouraging discipleship through small groups, mentoring, and hands-on service; and leading meaningful community outreach. The pastor will shepherd an established congregation while helping the church build relationships, welcome new people, and serve a diverse and changing rural community.

Delhi Alliance has 41 members, many of whom are active, faithful, Bible-believing Christians who value local outreach, youth programs, and midweek fellowship. The church hopes to connect with younger generations while continuing to care well for current members. Delhi has nearly 2,300 year-round residents, and SUNY Delhi brings approximately 3,000 students to the area. Community challenges include addiction, food insecurity, isolation, and limited access to transportation for some students.

Candidates must be willing and able to complete the licensing process with The Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). Applicants should submit an application, testimony, resume, and other relevant background information. • Provide engaging, Scripture-grounded preaching and teaching that helps longtime believers and newcomers understand biblical truth and apply it in everyday life.
• Build genuine relationships across generations through personal warmth, visible community presence, careful listening, and compassionate pastoral care.
• Develop and communicate a clear direction that honors the church’s heritage while pursuing outreach and ministry opportunities.
• Encourage spiritual growth through small groups, mentoring, and hands-on service that prepares and supports people for active ministry.
• Lead and support outreach that strengthens relationships among the congregation, local organizations, and neighbors who may need additional support.
• Shepherd the established congregation while helping build relationships, welcome new people, and serve the rural community.
