Senior Operations Program Manager

Microsoft•Redmond, WA
•$106,400 - $203,600

About The Position

Microsoft’s Creative, Brand & Advertising organization is seeking a Senior Operations Program Manager to serve as the operational backbone of a high-volume, fast-paced creative organization. The role sits at the intersection of Campaign Operations, Creative Operations, and Platforms & Technology, managing the operating model that moves work from intake through delivery. It oversees intake and prioritization, team capacity, resource coordination, portfolio visibility, and effective staffing, tracking, and delivery across campaigns and creative initiatives. The role also partners across teams to improve workflows, governance, reporting, and planning practices. It serves as a business owner and practitioner for operational platforms, helping shape how systems are used to support delivery and scale operations, rather than building those platforms or systems. The successful candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, managing work flow, capacity decisions, contractor and agency support, and process improvements. Microsoft describes its mission as empowering every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Employees are expected to bring a growth mindset, innovate, collaborate, and uphold respect, integrity, and accountability while fostering an inclusive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or a related field, and 3+ years of integrated marketing, event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment without direct authority.

Nice To Haves

  • 7–10 years of experience in advertising operations, creative operations, or campaign operations, including resource management, highly preferred.
  • Advertising agency experience in an operations capacity.
  • Experience supporting in-house creative, brand, advertising, or integrated marketing organizations.
  • Experience developing and scaling operational processes, governance models, and ways of working across complex organizations.
  • Experience with Workfront or similar project, workflow, and portfolio management platforms.
  • Experience with resource forecasting, workforce planning, and vendor management.
  • Experience creating reporting frameworks, dashboards, and operational insights that inform business and staffing decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing complex portfolios of work across multiple stakeholders, teams, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Experience leading intake, prioritization, capacity planning, resource management, and operational planning processes.
  • Experience managing contractor, freelance, agency, or external workforce operations.

  • Provide leadership visibility into portfolio health, priorities, capacity, risks, and delivery trends.
  • Own capacity planning and resource allocation across employees, contractors, freelancers, agencies, and external partners.
  • Partner with team leads and leadership to forecast demand, balance workloads, and ensure staffing meets business needs.
  • Manage operational aspects of contractor and agency engagement, including onboarding, offboarding, extensions, and workforce planning.
  • Identify capability gaps and recommend ways to address current and future resourcing needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement across workflows, planning processes, governance models, and operational rhythms.
