About The Position

GEODIS is a global third-party logistics provider. The Senior Operations Manager establishes procedures for warehouse operations, including shipment verification, materials handling and disposition, and inventory control. The role maintains the physical condition of warehouse facilities and equipment, coordinates operations with other functional areas, and partners with customers to support satisfaction through consistent communication and follow-up. The manager oversees warehouse safety, sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, operational excellence, facility KPIs, and the operation’s budget and P&L. The role also works with engineering on warehouse layout and product placement, ensures payroll integrity, leads cultural change, and maintains compliance with applicable certifications and regulations. The position includes hands-on management of the distribution center and its supervisory and hourly teams, including staffing, training, work direction, performance appraisal, and problem resolution.

Requirements

Minimum 6 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Experience with warehouse management systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; must be PC literate.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.

Responsibilities

Establish operational procedures for incoming and outgoing shipments, materials handling and disposition, and current warehouse inventory.
Ensure the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment is properly maintained.
Ensure repair work orders and equipment replacement requisitions are submitted to appropriate personnel.
Coordinate warehouse activities with other functional areas, including customer service and sales.
Partner with customers to maintain satisfaction through consistent communication and follow-up on concerns and requests.
Ensure safe warehouse operations and compliance with company standards for sanitation, maintenance, security, and housekeeping.
Manage the operation’s budget and P&L.
Ensure operational excellence across warehouse areas, related equipment, and warehouse management systems.
Partner with engineering to implement and maintain warehouse layout and product placement.
Monitor facility KPIs and ensure they are met in a timely and cost-effective manner to support profitability and productivity.
Ensure payroll integrity for direct reports and reporting teams.
Lead cultural change within facilities when necessary.
Ensure compliance with CTPAT, ISO, AIB, and other applicable regulatory certifications.
Manage the distribution center, including interviewing, hiring, and training supervisory and hourly staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance.
Address complaints and resolve problems.
