About The Position

The Senior Onboarding Specialist owns the day-to-day delivery of Deli/Bakery Centralized Training and assigned Orientation sessions, along with the detailed execution of new-hire and key-position training placements. This role serves as the primary Specialist-level escalation point for complex onboarding delivery issues and partners closely with the Learning Coordinator, Learning Specialist, and store leadership to ensure onboarding is completed accurately, on time, and in a manner consistent with Busch's culture and operational standards.

  • Demonstrated leadership presence, sound independent judgment, critical thinking, and problem solving in complex operational situations.
  • Proficient presentation and facilitation skills in both classroom and operational learning environments.
  • Proficient organization and planning skills with the ability to coordinate multiple associates, stores, mentors, schedules, training plans, deadlines, ticket updates, and follow-up requirements simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and influence skills with associates, store leadership, mentors, HR, and L&D partners.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, the L&D Ticketing System, and the ability to learn Busch's learning, scheduling, HR, and other proprietary systems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly between Busch's locations and adjust schedule as needed for Orientation, CT, follow-up, and coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Own and facilitate Deli/Bakery Centralized Training, including preparation, rosters, attendee communication, operational accuracy, food-safety alignment, and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Conduct assigned Orientation sessions in multiple locations and provide a consistent introduction to Busch's mission, culture, values, expectations, benefits, and learning resources.
  • Maintain fluency in Cashier Centralized Training and the Onboarding Specialist role to provide vacation, absence, and temporary coverage.
  • Review the Learning & Development Ticketing System daily, assign or claim requests that fall within this role's responsibilities, complete or coordinate the required work, and maintain timely, accurate ticket updates through resolution.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional requests without assuming routine ownership of work assigned to another role.
  • Own Ticketing System requests related to approved new-hire training-placement scheduling and follow-through, Deli/Bakery Centralized Training, assigned Orientation, 30/60/90-day training-plan follow-up, onboarding-completion issues, and related session timekeeping.
  • Own all timekeeping and punch entry/corrections for new hires attending assigned Orientation and Centralized Training sessions; escalate unresolved exceptions to the Learning Coordinator.
  • After the Learning Coordinator confirms the training store, mentor, hours, and overall placement parameters, own the detailed execution of leadership/key-position training placements: build the training schedule, coordinate dates with the associate/home store/training store/mentor, distribute the finalized plan, maintain documentation, make routine scheduling adjustments, track progress, and escalate significant placement or mentor issues back to the Learning Coordinator.
  • Own 30/60/90-day training-plan follow-up for designated new hires and key positions, including completion checks, store follow-up, documentation, and escalation of recurring barriers.
  • Partner with the Learning Coordinator on placement decisions, training-hour issues, and exceptions while retaining responsibility for routine placement scheduling, administration, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Lead operational follow-up on onboarding learning-plan and assessment completion; identify associates or departments falling behind and partner with store leadership to resolve gaps.
  • Review onboarding trends, training-hour usage, assessment results, and recurring exceptions and provide recommendations to the Learning Coordinator, Learning Specialist, and Director.
  • Serve as the primary Specialist-level escalation point for complex onboarding delivery issues requiring strong operational judgment, critical thinking, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Maintain Deli/Bakery CT materials and provide operational feedback to the Learning Specialist and subject matter experts when learning materials, assessments, or processes require revision.
  • Support special projects, field trips, experiential learning, community events, and other People & Learning initiatives when core onboarding responsibilities allow.
