About The Position

Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the Home Delivery Coordinator/Case Worker manages and administers the Home Delivered Meal Program, assists with Congregate Meal Service operations, and substitutes for other Congregate Site Managers as needed. The role includes staff and volunteer development, member involvement and satisfaction, client assessments and reassessments, delivery route management, meal packing and delivery, and program supervision, promotion, and development. The case worker conducts in-home evaluations to identify clients’ needs, Activities of Daily Living, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, and other limitations that affect independent living. The position also involves driving a bus safely in accordance with YMCA policies and state laws, completing trip inspections and records, maintaining the vehicle and required documentation, keeping first aid supplies stocked, and ensuring riders follow bus rules. When not driving, the employee may assist other program areas and camp operations or maintenance. The role requires attendance at staff meetings and trainings and adherence to YMCA safety, supervision, mandated reporting, and risk management policies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social service or equivalent academic preparation or experience.
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications, maintained throughout employment.
Serv-Safe Food Handling certification maintained throughout employment; certification may be completed within three months of hire if needed.
Physical capacity to lift and carry delivery boxes and other required equipment.
Strong skills in program development and management, special event management, staff supervision and development, member involvement and satisfaction, oral and written communication, and volunteer development.
Knowledge and experience managing staff, office and business systems, program resources, and departmental schedules.
Knowledge and experience with L.A. County Area Agency on Aging Home Delivery program management and its computer intake system.
Ability to lead and maintain exceptional member service and satisfaction and relate to staff and the general public.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, co-workers, volunteers, members, and the general public.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

Manage and administer the Home Delivered Meal Program under the supervision of the Site Manager.
Assist with Congregate Meal Service operations and substitute for other Congregate Site Managers as needed.
Support staff development and guidance, volunteer development, and member involvement and satisfaction.
Conduct new client assessments, quarterly reassessments, and in-home evaluations of clients’ needs and limitations.
Manage delivery routes and meal packing and delivery.
Supervise, promote, and develop the program.
Drive the bus safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws, and abide by traffic laws.
Complete and record thorough before-and-after trip checks each day.
Record gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms; keep required documentation orderly.
Clean out the bus each day and keep first aid supplies stocked.
Announce and ensure compliance with bus rules.
Communicate regularly with staff members and the supervisor.
Assist with other program areas and camp operations or maintenance when not driving.
Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting, and risk management.
Demonstrate YMCA values and the Six Pillars of Character in dealings with members, guests, volunteers, and fellow staff.
Develop competencies in mission advancement, collaboration, operational effectiveness, and personal growth.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
