About The Position

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Services Specialist supporting the C3I & Networks Division (AFLCMC/HNI) as well as Base Information Transport Infrastructure (BITI) Wired & Wireless (AFLCMC/HNIB). The Contractor shall advise and support work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. Functions required to be performed by individuals in this specialty may include: Analyze and recommend network requirements, Recommend and maintain network architecture and infrastructure, Analyze network workload, Monitor network capacity and performance, Diagnose and resolve network problems, Recommend network backup and recovery procedures, Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software, Ensure the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed
  • Five years of experience in the DoD
  • Two additional years of technical network engineering experience with proper certifications may substitute for Master’s degree

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work independently and apply the proper procedures and processes related to their area of expertise
  • Experience configuring, operating, and testing DoD C4ISR components, systems, and tactical architectures
  • Knowledge of IP-Based networks and High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) devices (KG-175/250)
  • Equipment familiarity with Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI), Joint Range Extension (JRE), Gateway Manager, Multifunctional Information Distribution System Low Volume Terminal (MIDS LVT), and Common Data Link (CDL)
