About The Position

Nexttech is seeking a Senior .NET Backend Developer to design, build, and evolve secure, scalable, and reusable backend services for business-critical enterprise applications. This role is for an experienced, hands-on engineer with strong expertise in C# and .NET, enterprise API design, system integration, and cloud-native delivery. The main technologies for this role include C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, Oracle, Kafka, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Microservices.

Requirements

Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on backend development experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core.
Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs and system-to-system integrations.
Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL, and relational database technologies.
Practical experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging and event-driven platforms.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean-code practices.
Experience with Entity Framework Core or equivalent persistence technologies.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
Strong automated-testing skills using xUnit, NUnit, Moq, or equivalent tools.
Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, and enterprise identity and access-management integration.
Experience applying Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and event-driven architecture.
Good understanding of distributed-system failure scenarios, resiliency, and performance considerations.
Experience working in Agile, cross-team, and multi-system delivery environments.
Strong analytical thinking, autonomy, ownership, and delivery discipline.
Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and challenge unclear or inefficient solutions.

Nice To Haves

Experience in banking, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.
Experience with payments, lending, customer-data, core systems, or enterprise integration platforms.
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and observability tools such as Elastic, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Experience with caching strategies, cache invalidation, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with enterprise security, auditability, data-protection, and controlled-delivery requirements.
Practical experience with Microsoft Copilot or another enterprise-approved generative AI assistant.
Understanding of confidentiality, data-classification, and safe-use requirements when working with AI tools.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
Translate business and technical requirements into clear, maintainable, and testable solutions.
Design and implement REST APIs with clear, versioned contracts using OpenAPI / Swagger.
Develop reusable integration capabilities and avoid application-specific point-to-point solutions.
Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and implementation notes.
Design synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven interaction patterns based on solution needs.
Integrate applications using Apache Kafka or equivalent enterprise messaging platforms.
Develop and optimize database interactions with Oracle and other relational databases.
Ensure backward compatibility, idempotency, transactional consistency, and resilient error handling.
Identify and resolve database, integration, and application performance issues.
Apply appropriate architectural patterns, including Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and event-driven architecture.
Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and enterprise access-management solutions.
Build automated unit, component, and integration tests using xUnit, NUnit, Moq, or equivalent frameworks.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to clean-code, security, performance, and engineering-quality standards.
Address scalability, availability, latency, resiliency, auditability, and maintainability requirements.
Containerize applications and support delivery through Docker and Kubernetes / OpenShift platforms.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and build automation using GitHub Actions or equivalent tooling.
Implement structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing aligned with organizational standards.
Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, and runtime issues in non-production environments.
Collaborate closely with solution architects, technical leads, business analysts, QA engineers, and other development teams.
