About The Position

The Senior C# / .NET Core Backend Developer designs, develops, and maintains backend applications and services using C# and .NET Core, translating business requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions. The role partners with trading, operations, business analysts, and technology stakeholders to deliver enhancements for securities finance and trading workflows.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role with responsibility for technical delivery and coordination of offshore developers. The developer owns initiatives from technical design through testing, deployment, and production support; develops and optimizes APIs, database interactions, and integrations; and troubleshoots production issues through root-cause analysis and performance improvements. The role also promotes engineering standards for code quality, automated testing, security, documentation, and release controls.

The ideal candidate combines C# / .NET Core expertise with capital markets experience, works directly with business stakeholders, independently delivers solutions, and guides an offshore team toward consistent, high-quality results.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience developing backend applications using C# and .NET Core.
• Experience building or supporting technology solutions in at least one of these domains: Securities Finance, Securities Lending, Stock Loan, Prime Services, or Trading.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery and coordinate an offshore development team while remaining an active individual contributor.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software design patterns, and enterprise application development.
• Experience developing APIs and integrating services across complex application environments.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills, including query development and performance tuning.
• Experience with automated testing, source control, and structured software delivery practices.
• Ability to take ownership of complex problems and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with business users and distributed technology teams.

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience supporting securities borrowing and lending or stock loan platforms.
• Understanding of workflows such as trade booking, inventory and availability, locates, recalls, returns, collateral, or settlements.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and performance-sensitive financial applications.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, containers, and application modernization.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical direction and delivery oversight for offshore developers, including work allocation, requirements clarification, code reviews, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate onshore and offshore delivery, ensuring clear handoffs, accountability, and timely escalation of risks and dependencies.
• Own assigned initiatives throughout the development lifecycle, from technical design through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Develop and optimize APIs, database interactions, and integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve application performance and stability.
• Promote engineering standards covering code quality, automated testing, security, documentation, and release controls.
