Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native)
About The Position
Abby Care is hiring a mission-driven Senior Mobile Engineer to help build its AI-native platform for family-led care. Reporting to the Director of Product Engineering, this role works within a collaborative, cross-functional team in a 0-to-1 environment, building technology that supports family caregivers and improves care delivery at home. The position is a full-time hybrid opportunity based in San Francisco. The engineer will own the development lifecycle from concept to delivery, including scoping projects, mobile and full-stack development, user testing, and launch management. They will partner with operations, clinical, compliance, product, and other teams to develop practical solutions and communicate technical initiatives. The role also contributes to technical excellence across product development, cloud infrastructure, machine learning, and data security, including greenfield systems using AI advancements. A key focus is rebuilding the mobile experience with React Native to be AI-native.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- A proven track record of building, scaling, and maintaining complex applications.
- Strong React Native expertise and ability to provide architectural leadership for rebuilding the mobile experience.
- A product-minded approach focused on intuitive end-user experiences.
- Strong engineering foundation and architectural thinking.
Nice To Haves
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience using AI tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude, and interest in helping establish an AI-native development culture.
- Familiarity with backend development, particularly Python, and/or modern web frameworks.
- Familiarity with Android and native Android development.
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments with high ownership.
- Experience in health technology or strong personal motivation to build software that improves human health and home care.
Responsibilities
