About The Position

Fidelity Brokerage’s Core Experience group is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to help a team of software engineers make quality a first principle and integrate full test automation throughout the software development lifecycle. The role designs and implements end-to-end quality processes, embeds quality practices in engineering teams, and supports development of mobile, web, and API experiences. It champions automation technology, healthy test pyramids, mobile testing strategies, AI-driven testing, release management, SDLC practices, and Definition of Done. The engineer owns quality outcomes and metrics, mentors and collaborates with team and project leads, and maintains and optimizes automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines. The position also explores and implements AI/ML-driven tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency, defect detection, and quality assurance. Fidelity states that it will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position. Its onsite working model is transitioning through a phased rollout, with requirements varying by role and location and likely to evolve.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional SDET experience, with a strong focus on writing code for test automation.
• Proven experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks for native iOS and native Android.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-driven testing tools and techniques focused on improving test efficiency and defect detection.
• Hands-on experience managing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines, test automation tools and frameworks, feature-toggle management tools, and test environments.
• Demonstrated success on software engineering teams that own and implement their own quality practices without relying on separate QA teams.
• Strong software engineering background or exposure, with the ability to read, write, and debug unit, integration, and end-to-end test code.
• Expertise maintaining and optimizing automated functional test suites to balance reliability, test coverage, and developer productivity.
• Strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and technical expertise to lead impactful discussions.
• Test-first development mindset and expertise with modern test frameworks for mobile, web, and APIs.
• Collaborative, self-starting technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end quality processes that enable full test automation and eliminate the need for separate QA.
• Embed a culture of quality in software engineering teams, leveraging the Quality Center of Excellence.
• Champion best practices in automation technology, test pyramid health, mobile testing, AI-driven testing, release management, SDLC practices, and Definition of Done.
• Own team quality outcomes and success metrics, including test coverage, automation levels, change failure rate, and pipeline stability.
• Mentor and collaborate with team and project leads on test strategy, scope, and mobile testing frameworks.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize test suites and CI/CD pipelines to balance reliability, test coverage, and developer productivity.
• Explore and implement AI/ML-driven testing tools and techniques to improve test efficiency, defect detection, and quality assurance.
• Create and maintain test data and manage vendor relationships for testing tools and services.
