About The Position

Coordinates patient intake from all points of entry, including the Emergency Department, In-Patient Unit, physician offices, and clinics, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Collaborates with appropriate hospital staff and departments to ensure quality, timely, cost-efficient transfer and placement into the most appropriate level of care. Dispatches requests for transport services according to established dispatch protocols and Health System philosophy. Serves as a clinical resource for Mission Support Coordinators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, 911 service, or inter-facility transport, with thorough knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts related to emergency medical services and/or healthcare; alternatively, experience as a Registered Nurse, including as a graduate nurse in a hospital setting.
• One of the following credentials is required: Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License, Multi-State Compact RN License, Emergency Medicine Technician certification, Paramedic certification, or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians credential.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree preferred.
