About The Position

The Nonreactor Nuclear Facility Division (NNFD) is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Solutions Engineer to join the Design Engineering group as part of the Digital Solutions Team. The role provides technical capability to design, develop, integrate, and sustain digital solutions that support modernization and strengthening of the Configuration Management program. Working with process owners, subject matter experts, system owners, and technical organizations, the Solutions Engineer translates business and functional needs into practical, integrated solutions.

The engineer designs, develops, integrates, tests, deploys, documents, sustains, and continuously improves IEOS and related Microsoft 365 solutions. This includes developing applications, workflows, data structures, dashboards, reports, interfaces, and automation; integrating IEOS with authoritative enterprise systems; and preserving data ownership, traceability, information protection, and applicable controls. The role also includes technical documentation, testing, troubleshooting, risk escalation, and ongoing solution support.

The position is based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and requires onsite presence, with a hybrid/onsite arrangement potentially available. Employees must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check. Visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered.
• At least seven years of relevant experience designing, developing, integrating, deploying, and supporting enterprise digital solutions.
• Ability to independently translate business and functional requirements from process owners and subject matter experts into secure, integrated, maintainable production solutions with limited technical oversight and without detailed how-to direction.
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, and related capabilities.
• Working knowledge of solution architecture, enterprise data structures, REST APIs, connectors, databases, authentication and authorization, data mapping, and system integration.
• Experience taking solutions through requirements, technical design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, documentation, and sustainment.
• Ability to use modern development tools, including approved AI-assisted development methods, while maintaining accountability for technical quality and validation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with subject matter experts, process owners, system owners, and technical teams.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work independently with appropriate technical guidance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card and successfully pass a Federal Tier 1 background check.

Nice To Haves

• Seven or more years of relevant experience and demonstrated independent delivery of complex enterprise solutions.
• Experience with Power BI, Dataverse, SharePoint JSON, Microsoft Graph, REST APIs, PowerShell, Azure integration, Power Platform ALM, Git/GitLab, Python, JavaScript/modern web technologies, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with HxGN EAM, Primavera P6, SAP, EDRM, Smartsheet, or other enterprise business systems.
• Experience designing and implementing integrations across Microsoft 365 and enterprise business systems.
• Familiarity with Configuration Management, design control, regulated engineering environments, nuclear facilities, testing, deployment, recovery, or lifecycle support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, document, sustain, and continuously improve IEOS and related Microsoft 365 solutions.
• Translate approved business and functional requirements into practical digital solutions in collaboration with process owners, subject matter experts, system owners, and technical organizations.
• Develop applications, workflows, data structures and relationships, dashboards, reports, interfaces, and automation supporting Configuration Management and related functional needs.
• Integrate IEOS with authoritative enterprise systems using approved APIs, connectors, databases, Microsoft Graph, and other appropriate integration methods.
• Design and implement solutions that preserve authoritative sources, data ownership, traceability, information protection, and applicable controls.
• Select and apply appropriate technical approaches, integration methods, automation, and approved AI-assisted development methods while maintaining accountability for technical quality and validation.
• Deliver secure, reliable, maintainable, and supportable solutions that meet approved requirements and applicable lifecycle controls.
• Maintain testing, technical documentation, version and configuration control, and traceability throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, workflow, data, integration, and deployment issues and support continued operation and improvement of assigned solutions.
• Identify and escalate technical, integration, security, data, or supportability risks that could affect solution performance or successful implementation.
