About The Position

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior MEP Practice Builder to expand our MEP practice in Florida! This role is a Project Management role in conjunction with lead engineer responsibilities. It requires the ability to oversee the MEP design of projects from concept to completion, including continuous interface with the design team and clients. Our Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor. The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business. Requirements

  • 15+ years of related experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Proven design experience with comfort and MEP systems and related controls
  • Proven design experience with plumbing systems including water, sewer, and gas
  • Experience producing engineering and energy studies including comcheck, Title 24
  • Experience mentoring and coordinating the work of EITs, designers, and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects
  • Able to manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking ability
  • Ability to work individually or in a multi-discipline team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in AutoCAD and Revit is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the MEP design of projects from concept to completion, including continuous interface with the design team and clients.
  • Write responses to Requests for Proposals and Requests for Qualifications for various clients and marketing opportunities.
  • Mentor and coordinate the work of designers and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects.
  • Manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Manage their projects profitably.
  • Transition work to qualified staff.
