Senior Medical Claims Representative
About The Position
The Senior Medical Claims Representative provides efficient investigation, evaluation, and negotiation of Michigan Workers’ Compensation claims. The role involves promptly and equitably responding to and controlling the disposition of assigned Michigan Workers’ Disability Compensation claims, with the goal of positively affecting company profitability while providing quality service to insureds and supporting business retention. The representative uses computer systems for tasks including letter composition, log and diary entry, investigation report composition, and draft production. The role also requires maintaining enhanced knowledge of and ability to apply Michigan Workers’ Compensation laws as written.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or equivalent experience may be considered.
- At least five years of medical claims handling experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- At least two designations from AIC, AINS, or another insurance-related designation.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate Michigan Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Respond to assigned Michigan Workers’ Disability Compensation claims in a timely and equitable manner and control their disposition.
- Provide quality service to insureds and support business retention while contributing to the company’s profitability.
- Use computer systems for letter composition, log entry, diary entry, investigation report composition, and draft production.
- Maintain knowledge of and apply Michigan Workers’ Compensation laws as written.
