About The Position

Under minimum supervision, investigates, negotiates, and settles general liability, product liability, landlord, and other claims. The role involves timely interviews and ongoing communication with claim participants, evaluating claim exposure, directing service providers, and developing strategic plans for claims throughout the life of each file. The position also requires working knowledge of general liability laws and statutes in multiple states.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confrontational situations in a mature and professional manner.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Three to five years of experience required.
• Extensive insurance claims background, with emphasis on auto liability bodily injury, premises liability, or general liability.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with injured customers, store personnel, and witnesses within 24 hours of receiving a reported incident, and maintain telephone contact with appropriate parties throughout the life of the file.
• Evaluate the monetary exposure of claims using professional experience and investigative skills.
• Control the activities of service providers, including defense attorneys, medical case managers, and private investigators, to minimize claim expense and maximize results.
• Develop and maintain a proactive strategic plan of action for each file throughout its life.
• Maintain working knowledge of general liability laws and statutes for multiple states.
