Senior Medical Claims Representative
About The Position
The Senior Medical Claims Representative handles Michigan No-Fault claims, providing efficient investigation, evaluation, and negotiation. The role is responsible for timely and equitable responses and for controlling the disposition of assigned claims in a way that supports the company’s overall profitability while providing quality service to insureds and helping retain business. The position uses computer systems for functions including composing letters, entering logs and diary entries, preparing investigation reports, and producing drafts. It also requires maintaining enhanced knowledge of and ability to apply Michigan No-Fault policy and statutes as written. The role may be based onsite, hybrid, or remote depending on the employee’s home location and training needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or equivalent experience may be considered.
- At least five years of medical claims handling experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Two or more designations among AIC, AINS, and/or other insurance-related designations.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate Michigan No-Fault claims.
- Initiate timely and equitable responses to assigned claims and control their disposition.
- Provide quality service to insureds and support business retention while contributing to the company’s overall profitability.
- Use computer systems for letter composition, log entry, diary entry, investigation report composition, and draft production.
- Maintain knowledge of and apply Michigan No-Fault policies and acts as written.
