Solving whatever is thrown our way and translating it into clear, executable solutions is at the core of 85SIXTY. 85SIXTY is looking for a Sr. Paid Search Manager with experience managing Google Ads and Microsoft Ads programs across Search, Performance Max, Shopping, Demand Gen, YouTube, and Google Display Network (GDN) campaigns. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management, optimization, and strategic direction of a portfolio of client accounts. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients and internal teams to define business objectives and KPIs, develop and execute media strategies, and implement measurement frameworks that accurately evaluate performance against client goals. Success in this role requires the ability to balance hands-on campaign management with strategic thinking, client communication, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous testing to drive measurable business results. 85SIXTY has a highly collaborative approach, and your digital media expertise will be combined with the knowledge of cross-functional team members to create integrated marketing strategies rooted in performance. This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be located in the San Diego area and able to work from the office two days per week. We focus on active lifestyle, eCommerce, and Travel & Hospitality brands. Experience working with these industries, as well as a personal passion for these categories, is a plus.

Requirements

  • Experience managing Google Ads and Microsoft Ads/Bing campaigns against client goals with at least 6-figure monthly budgets.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Paid Search campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, with Paid Search serving as your primary area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute performance driven digital media campaigns.
  • Knowledge of broader digital marketing channels and how Paid Search integrates within a full-funnel media strategy.
  • Understanding of how AI, LLMs, and generative search experiences are changing search behavior, media strategy, and performance marketing, with a willingness to embrace new tactics, testing approaches, and platform shifts.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel (pivot tables and formulas), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate performance, recommendations, and strategy to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across teams, departments, and levels of the organization.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to adapt quickly, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Shopping feed management including troubleshooting within Merchant Center and Shopify is a plus.
  • Experience in retail marketplaces (i.e. Sponsored Products campaigns across Amazon/WFG, Walmart, Roundel, etc.) is a plus.
  • Call Tracking experience within Paid Search campaigns is a plus.
  • Certification in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.
  • GA4 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, launch, manage, and optimize Search, Performance Max, Shopping, Demand Gen, YouTube, and GDN campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads platforms to achieve client business objectives and growth goals.
  • Serve as the day-to-day Paid Search lead across assigned accounts, owning account performance, client communication, strategic direction, and overall success.
  • Analyze campaign performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency, achieve client KPIs, and maximize business impact.
  • Develop account roadmaps, testing plans, and strategic recommendations to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and business growth.
  • Translate campaign performance into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for both internal teams and clients.
  • Deliver and present campaign performance and strategic recommendations with an eye toward future opportunities and risks.
  • Leverage internally developed tools, automation, and technology solutions to identify optimization opportunities and improve performance across marketing channels.
  • Stay current on emerging AI-powered advertising solutions, automation capabilities, platform innovations, and industry best practices to improve account performance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Paid Search team on account performance discussions, industry trends, testing strategies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Share insights, observations, and best practices while contributing to account QA, campaign launches, and ongoing performance improvements across clients.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director on account planning, strategic recommendations, performance reviews, testing initiatives, client growth opportunities, and long-term account success.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding account performance, optimization strategies, testing initiatives, and ongoing projects.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve underperforming campaigns, capitalize on strong performance trends, and recommend new strategies, channels, and initiatives that drive measurable business results.
  • Partner with SEO, Analytics, Creative, Account Management, and other channel teams to build holistic search strategies that connect paid and organic insights, keyword intent, landing page opportunities, and full-funnel performance goals.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to up to two Paid Search team members while supporting their professional growth and development.
