About The Position

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join its rapidly expanding Energy Solutions division. This role involves leading all aspects of performance contracts for clients, from initial concept through completion, acting as the primary client contact. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong technical background, capable of leading and contributing to all phases of project work. While the position is within the performance contracting division, candidates with significant HVAC design and commissioning experience are encouraged to apply, as these skills are transferable to the Energy Solutions group. The role also involves identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and contributing to CMTA's overall business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.
  • Must have undergrad degree in engineering from ABET accredited university.
  • Current work authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients, identifying opportunities where CMTA’s solutions can provide long-term value.
  • Articulate how and why CMTA is unique in our approach to performance contracting, reinforcing our value proposition in both technical and financial terms.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.
  • Participate in business development efforts including client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.
  • Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.
  • Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications.
  • Direct the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the client to finalize the performance contract.
  • Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period.
  • Direct the commissioning process to validate performance.
  • Support the client through the warranty phase as needed.
  • Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop the first-year M&V report.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of state specific K-12 design-build procurement processes, ensuring alignment with state and district requirements.
