About The Position

The Senior MDM Data Steward serves as the authoritative steward for patient and provider master data across the Enterprise Data Platform. The role leads operational governance, quality, and integrity of enterprise identity data, ensuring patient and provider global identifiers in the Snowflake Silver layer are accurate, complete, traceable, and trusted for analytics, reporting, regulatory compliance, operational decisions, and AI use cases. Working independently, the Senior MDM Data Steward leads identity-resolution activities, maintains stewardship standards, and adjudicates complex match, merge, and identity-exception scenarios. The position proactively identifies quality risks, drives remediation across source systems, oversees survivorship rules, and serves as the primary escalation point for patient and provider identity issues. It partners with Business Data Owners, Data Governance leaders, source-system stakeholders, and technical teams to improve stewardship practices and data quality accountability. The role also maintains patient and provider business glossary terms, data quality rules and definitions, lineage context, stewardship procedures, issue records, and related governance artifacts within Snowflake Horizon Catalog. It provides stewardship leadership, monitors and analyzes data quality, and keeps critical business and technical metadata current and aligned with enterprise data governance standards. This is a remote position, as indicated by the #LI-Remote designation. The role includes the physical demands of sitting, standing, bending, talking, hearing, walking, and lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be available for individuals with disabilities.

  • Lead provider data quality and governance initiatives to ensure provider practice, location, and organizational affiliation data is accurate and usable for operational, analytical, credentialing, reimbursement, and regulatory reporting needs.
  • Partner with Data Architecture to evaluate and tune Verato match thresholds, referential matching configuration, survivorship, and attribute-precedence rules; measure impacts before promoting changes.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise stewardship decision standards, documenting exceptions, adjudication rationale, survivorship outcomes, merge and unmerge activities, and record-resolution actions.
  • Define business acceptance standards for patient and provider mastered records, source-to-global-ID crosswalks, identity-resolution outcomes, and golden-record quality in the Snowflake Silver layer.
  • Monitor patient and provider global-ID integrity in the Silver layer, identify data quality defects, validate business-rule adherence, and direct remediation with Data Engineering and DataOps teams.

  • Establish and govern patient and provider master data standards, including terminology, required attributes, permissible values, ownership, attribute precedence, relationship hierarchies, and merge/unmerge policies.
  • Maintain the Patient and Provider stewardship framework and metadata in Snowflake Horizon Catalog, including glossary terms, data quality standards, procedures, issue records, and lineage documentation.
  • Represent Patient and Provider domains as the primary stewardship leader within the Data Governance Steering Committee and partner with Business Data Owners on definitions, quality expectations, usage standards, and remediation priorities.
  • Provide governance recommendations to Business Data Owners and lead evaluation of changes to master data policies, definitions, matching criteria, survivorship logic, and quality thresholds.
  • Ensure stewardship operations adhere to HIPAA minimum-necessary requirements, HITRUST controls, and organizational privacy and security policies; maintain oversight and auditability for identity-resolution activities.
  • Partner with Privacy, Compliance, and business stakeholders on regulatory and policy impacts involving consent restrictions, sensitive data, healthcare obligations, golden-record usage, and downstream access controls.
  • Improve master data standards supporting regulatory reporting, quality initiatives, reimbursement, payer requirements, and broader enterprise objectives.
  • Direct master data remediation with registration, provider credentialing, human resources, practice operations, and other source-system owners, ensuring accountability and sustainable improvements.
