About The Position

This college-level position, under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), supports the Academic Programs Team. The role has primary oversight of the master schedule of course offerings on the Columbus Campus within the Student Information System (SIS). This includes coordinating communications with academic units, developing and implementing course offerings, and liaising with the University Registrar to implement course changes and new offerings in alignment with curriculum requirements. The position is also responsible for implementing new processes, procedures, and platforms related to the Master Schedule of Classes and Course Catalog, and training academic unit and college personnel on these new systems and procedures. It involves collaborating with CFAES unit scheduling contacts to maintain and update existing master schedules, serving as an information resource and providing training for academic unit level scheduling contacts and faculty. The role cultivates relationships with academic units to develop strategies for scheduling adjustments, assures adherence to curricular policies through auditing, and liaises with various campus coordinators and leadership for central coordination of curricular offerings. Additionally, it orchestrates scheduling processes for general assignment and college instructional spaces, develops web-based resources for course offerings and activity/event scheduling, and provides office support, special projects, and other duties as assigned. This position may require travel within the state of Ohio and may include working evening and weekend hours when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of relevant experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of Ohio State University Systems including the Master Schedule of Classes, Course Catalog (curriculum.osu.edu), Student Information System (SIS), and Room Matrix.

Responsibilities

  • Has responsibility for primary oversight of the master schedule of course offerings on the Columbus Campus within the Student Information System (SIS), including coordination of communications with academic units, developing and implementing the offering of courses, liaising with the University Registrar, to implement course changes and new course offerings in alignment with curriculum requirements
  • Responsible for implementation of new processes/procedures/platforms related to the Master Schedule of Classes and Course Catalog and training academic unit and college personnel on new systems and procedures.
  • Collaborates with the CFAES unit scheduling contacts within the academic units to maintain and update existing master schedules of course offerings within SIS.
  • Serves as an information resource and provides training for academic unit level scheduling contacts and academic unit faculty involved in the development of course offerings.
  • Cultivates relationships with academic units in developing strategies for making scheduling adjustments in accordance to established curricular requirements.
  • Assures adherence to curricular policies by auditing offerings for compliance with university and college policies.
  • Liaises with CFAES Wooster Ohio State ATI scheduling coordinator, coordinators across the university, CFAES Academic Affairs team and academic unit leadership, providing central coordination of curricular offerings in accordance with college procedures.
  • Orchestrates the scheduling processes of Mid-West campus general assignment and college instructional spaces for class and non-class use.
  • Develops web-based resources for both the master schedule of course offerings and activity and event scheduling.
  • Collaborates to develop scheduling strategies and resources for faculty and staff.
  • Provides additional office support.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned in support of the Academic Programs unit and initiatives.
