Senior Master Data Manager

IREN•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

The Senior Master Data Manager owns the strategy, structure, and governance of master data across IREN’s AI infrastructure and data center supply chain. The role ensures that finance, procurement, inventory, quality, cost, project, and site data describe the same materials, suppliers, and locations consistently. It defines the master data model, standards, workflows, and integration patterns for exchanging and ingesting master data across ERP, PLM, procurement, quality, warehouse, and project-controls systems. This senior individual-contributor role works closely with Finance, Technical Sourcing, Supply Chain Operations, PLM Quality, Data Center Engineering, IT, and Analytics & Data Engineering to establish trusted, connected master data for downstream systems, reports, and models. IREN is an AI Cloud Service Provider that delivers GPU clusters for AI training and inference. Its vertically integrated platform includes grid-connected land and data centers in renewable-rich regions across the U.S. and Canada. The company states that it uses 100% renewable energy and aims to operate responsibly and sustainably, with a positive impact on the communities where it operates. The role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area under a hybrid arrangement. IREN does not yet have a Bay Area office; until a planned Santa Clara office opens, the role will work remotely and transition to hybrid on-site work once the office is established. The position may involve periodic travel to supplier and vendor sites, data centers, and industry events. Pre-employment screening, including a background check and substance testing, may be required. The employee must be able to reliably commute to the assigned office on scheduled in-office days once the hybrid arrangement is in effect.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in master data management, data governance, or enterprise data architecture for supply chain, manufacturing, or operations data.
  • Proven experience designing and owning enterprise master data models and domains, including material/part, supplier, customer, BOM, site/project, cost center, and chart-of-accounts mappings, with hierarchies, taxonomies, attributes, and lifecycle rules.
  • Strong technical understanding of master data flows between ERP, PLM, procurement/P2P, quality (QMS), inventory and warehouse, finance, and project-controls systems, and of integration patterns such as APIs, middleware, extracts, CDC, and event-based integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with MDM and data-governance tools and ERP master data, including data migration, cleansing, de-duplication, and survivorship rules.
  • Working expertise in data-quality measurement, data-stewardship operating models, and change-control workflows for master data creation, change, and obsolescence.
  • Experience leading cross-functional data design with finance, procurement, quality, and operations stakeholders, translating business definitions into system-ready structures, and reconciling conflicting requirements.
  • Strong hands-on problem-solving, data-analysis, and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously across finance, supply chain, quality, IT, and data engineering teams.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the assigned office location on scheduled in-office days under the hybrid work arrangement.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience in a hyperscaler, cloud provider, OEM/ODM, or AI infrastructure company.
  • Experience with SAP MDG, ECC, or S/4HANA; these are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the master data strategy and roadmap for IREN’s AI infrastructure supply chain, defining mastered domains, their sources, and distribution to consuming systems.
  • Define the source-of-truth system and record for master data domains, including part, material/item, product, supplier, customer, asset, and service masters, and map those domains to their source-of-truth systems.
  • Design and govern integration architecture for ERP, PLM, procurement, quality, inventory and warehouse, finance, and project-controls systems, partnering with IT and Data Engineering on APIs, middleware, and data pipelines.
  • Ensure systematic links move master data from source-of-truth systems to downstream systems and maintain the integrity and compliance of master records throughout their life cycles.
  • Develop and lead periodic data reviews and audits with functional data owners to ensure accuracy.
  • Establish master data governance policies, data ownership, stewardship roles, and approval workflows; serve as the senior escalation point for standards, conflicts, and exceptions.
  • Define master data quality KPIs for completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and duplication, and drive root-cause remediation with system owners, stewards, and Data Engineering.
  • Partner with Analytics & Data Engineering to publish conformed dimensions, reference data, and a data catalog for analysts and business users.
  • Translate business definitions from Finance, Sourcing, Quality, and Operations into structured, system-ready master data standards and resolve conflicting requirements across functions.
  • Identify systemic gaps in data capture, identifiers, and cross-system mappings, and lead continuous-improvement initiatives to address them.
  • Publish master data health and integration-status reporting for leadership, including risks and recommended actions.
