About The Position

This role is for a Senior Marketing Manager at YWCA Banff. The ideal candidate is a seasoned marketing professional with experience leading teams, managing impactful campaigns, and delivering engaging events. They should have 5-7 years of experience and a values-driven approach to communications, understanding how storytelling can advance missions, strengthen community connections, and inspire action. The role requires developing and executing integrated, multi-channel marketing strategies to build brand profile, engage diverse audiences, and support advocacy, fund development, and stakeholder engagement goals. The position is both strategic and hands-on, involving oversight of communications strategy, campaign leadership, event delivery, and ensuring clear, values-aligned messaging. The candidate must also be a collaborative and supportive leader, comfortable managing people, projects, budgets, and competing priorities, and working effectively across departments. A passion for community impact and strong relationship-building skills are essential.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in marketing, communications, or fundraising-related roles, including leadership responsibility.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies, including campaigns and events.
  • Experience leading multi-channel initiatives with clear outcomes and using data to measure and improve performance.
  • Strong ability to craft compelling, values-aligned messaging across platforms (digital, print, campaigns, reports).
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content development skills.
  • Experience managing brand consistency and communicating complex or sensitive topics with clarity and care.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Highly collaborative, with experience working across teams and with senior leadership.
  • Adaptable, solution-focused, and able to navigate a dynamic environment.
  • Experience planning and delivering fundraising or community engagement events.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with partners, donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Skilled at translating events into meaningful engagement and impact.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial tracking, including variance reporting.
  • Proficiency with marketing and project tools (e.g., Asana, Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe, CRM systems).
  • High attention to detail with a focus on delivering work on time and on budget.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be located in the Bow Valley.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead an integrated marketing, communications, and events strategy that supports YWCA Banff’s mission, strategic priorities, fundraising goals, advocacy work, and community engagement.
  • Shape compelling, values-based messaging for campaigns, events, donor communications, stakeholder updates, the Annual Impact Report, and other key organizational communications.
  • Lead brand management, campaign strategy, and storytelling across digital, print, email, social media, website, direct mail, traditional media, and event channels.
  • Ensure communications are consistent, audience-aware, and aligned with YWCA Banff’s voice, values, and commitment to equity.
  • Plan and oversee fundraising and community engagement events, including event plans, timelines, stakeholder coordination, volunteer and committee involvement, and post-event evaluation.
  • Support the CEO and Resource Development team with mission-focused communications and events that strengthen donor relationships and community connection.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the marketing team, fostering professional growth, creative excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Work cross-departmentally to support program communications, advocacy initiatives, internal messaging, and organization-wide priorities.
  • Use communications, campaign, and event performance data to evaluate impact, identify opportunities, and improve future strategies.
  • Manage the marketing budget, monitor expenditures, complete monthly variance analysis, and contribute to reporting for the Director, Board, and Annual Impact Report.
  • Keep projects moving forward through clear planning, prioritization, and delivery on time and within budget.
