About The Position

The Senior Market and Business Development Manager (MBD) will support the Directors of Business Development in selling Cytel's clinical trial biometric consulting and CRO services to mid-size pharma and biotech clients. This is a great Inside Sales opportunity for those interested in transitioning to Outside Sales in the future. Along with the Directors of BD, the MBD will be primarily responsible for generating new business opportunities through a mix of prospecting/cold outreach/lead-generation in support of Cytel’s new business acquisition priorities. The MBD will develop and foster relationships with key customer executives and decision-makers, acquire an intimate understanding of the customer’s business, and create new business opportunities for Cytel by identifying emerging customer needs and formulating the appropriate solutions. The MBD will also be responsible for end-to-end sales selling our Software solutions to accounts within an assigned segment and territory. Over time, successful MBDs may develop additional responsibilities for account development and maintenance in an Outside Sales capacity.

Requirements

  • Experience in sales, business development, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to generate new business opportunities.
  • Experience in developing and fostering relationships with key customer executives and decision-makers.
  • Ability to understand customer businesses and identify emerging needs.
  • Experience in formulating solutions for customer needs.
  • Experience in end-to-end sales, including selling software solutions.
  • Ability to work within an assigned segment and territory.
  • Interest in transitioning to Outside Sales.
