About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing of Terran R primary structures from development through the first prototype and flight builds. The role provides Design for Manufacturing feedback to structures teams, collaborates with design, manufacturing, and reliability engineers, production teams, and external vendors, and supports work-center assembly on the shop floor by resolving barriers and keeping production moving. The engineer champions process improvements across multiple work centers, incorporates feedback and lessons learned from the first Terran R build, and develops work instructions, specifications, and best practices for high-fidelity processes to help standardize manufacturing processes. The Stage Manufacturing team owns the build of Terran R’s primary structures and works closely with technicians and engineers to develop and improve the systems and processes used to build the rocket. The team focuses on meeting production and launch needs, solving manufacturing challenges, optimizing for scale, and applying process improvements and advanced technologies as the vehicle evolves.
