About The Position

The Senior Manager, Specialty Compliance and Ethics, leads the development and execution of compliance strategies within their area of responsibility. This role involves monitoring regulatory changes, conducting impact assessments, and advising leadership on compliance risks and ethical standards. The position requires managing policy updates, overseeing data analysis, and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability. The manager also guides teams through training and development, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence across the business. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to drive compliance initiatives effectively. About the team: The retail food safety compliance team leads the development and maintenance of food safety operations strategy, ensuring safe food delivery to customers and members. This team supports associates, stores, and clubs by providing guidance on compliance and regulatory requirements. They monitor laws and policies, identify risks, and develop strategies to address compliance gaps. The team fosters collaboration and clear communication to uphold high standards of governance and ethics. Through leadership and continuous improvement, they contribute to a safe and trustworthy food environment aligned with company values and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.
  • 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead compliance and ethics initiatives by monitoring regulations, addressing inquiries, and updating policies to ensure alignment with legal requirements.
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and mitigate compliance risks, including gap analyses and regulatory forecasting.
  • Manage research on regulatory trends and proposed legislation, providing expert analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversee data management programs to track legislation and regulatory developments impacting the business.
  • Drive business plans by setting priorities, removing obstacles, and measuring performance to achieve compliance objectives.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Promote adherence to company policies and ethical standards through training and communication.
