About The Position

This is a hands-on Senior Manager, Software Engineering role - think Principal/Senior Staff Engineer who also grows a small team. You'll spend roughly 70% of your time in the architecture and the code: designing scalable distributed systems, reviewing pull requests, debugging production issues, and setting the technical bar. The other 30% is managing and mentoring a team of 3-6 engineers. This is not a people-only management role; you lead by doing and go deep technically. Expect a technical interview loop that includes system design and live coding. About the team: Powerful entertainment experiences come from brilliant teams. The Content Services team builds the core services that power how people interact with the VIZIO OS platform - the connective tissue behind millions of everyday moments on our SmartTVs. We design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, always-on software, shipped through iterative development and continuous integration. In a collaborative, open-door environment, engineers own meaningful problems end to end - from architecture and platform design to product strategy and applied generative AI - staying hands-on and delivery-focused to turn business and technical goals into real outcomes.
